Greenwood Brewing may be one of the smaller breweries in Phoenix, but that’s honestly part of its charm. What we love here is that their list isn’t massive, yet thoughtful enough to surprise you.
We got the Belgian Tripel called First Love. It’s a strong ale with citrus, banana, and spicy yeast notes—something that you won’t find elsewhere. Other award-winning brews you can try are their Purpose Pilsner and Warrior Hazy IPA.
They don’t serve food in-house, but it’s great that you can easily order from nearby restaurants without paying any corkage fee.
Just outside the building, you can see gorgeous artwork that becomes everyone’s impromptu photo spot. And if you’re the type to start your Sunday slow and grounded, they also host morning yoga sessions.
Pro Tip: If you want to catch live music, plan your visit here at Greenwood Brewing between one and four in the afternoon.

Our favorite part of Arizona Wilderness is their big patio. It’s filled with benches, outdoor games, and even cooling fans that make the Arizona heat totally bearable.
Even indoors, you’ll find table games that keep things fun while you sip on your favorite craft beers. Whenever we’re here, we always love getting a pint of their Refuge and La Ciudad beers, with a chicken sandwich and a peanut butter and jelly burger.
They also keep the energy up with their trivia nights, which usually happen every Thursday.
Pro Tip: Lunchtime here at Arizona Wilderness turns into a low-key co-working hub. Consider bringing your laptop if you want to get things done while enjoying a pint.
3. Grand Avenue Brewing Co.

Grand Avenue Brewing Co. has a fun balance. It’s small enough to feel personal but big enough to brew creatively with their seven-barrel system.
It’s a place where they play around with new recipes and brew enough batches to keep things fresh every time we drop by. They also have a taproom inside a 1940s warehouse, with exposed wood ceilings that give it a cozier vibe.
They even have a huge 3,000-square-foot beer garden, which is perfect for big groups or if you just want to stay in a place with more room to breathe.
For drinks, go for the Bavaria Mandarina Single Hop IPA if you want something bold, or the Beeline Honey Wheat Ale for something lighter.
Pro Tip: Visit during the late afternoon for a quieter experience. The brewery gets lively in the evening, so arriving around 3-5 PM gives you time to chat with the brewers and snag a seat at the bar.
4. Wren House Brewing Co

Pricing: $$
Wren House Brewing Co is a tiny taproom with a vibe that leans on the yuppie-meets-boho-urban, which honestly makes it fun if you’re into the artsy or easygoing scene.
Their beer list is quite simple too, with IPAs, pale ales, and even a dark lager if you’re craving something deeper. And if you end up loving what you try, they’ve got to-go cans with eye-catching designs that are really worth grabbing (and collecting!).
Just a heads-up on the seating, though: most of the chairs are metal and not the most comfortable, and the dining chairs are pretty narrow.
And yes, if you’ve seen their photos online, you’ll see they have a house cat roaming around. So if you’ve got allergies, you might want to prepare for that.
Pro Tip: Ask staff what’s “off the chalkboard”. Wren House often rotates small-batch and seasonal beers that don’t make the main menu.
5. Fate Brewing Company

It’s also a solid spot if you want to catch a game, with several screens scattered around so you won’t miss a play. Outside, there’s a fun game area with cornhole and other lawn games to enjoy while you’re sipping on your favorite craft beer.
Meanwhile, their food is just as good as their beer. The key lime pie is made on-site, and we always grab a pretzel when we’re here!
For drinks, the King Joey Pale Ale is a light-bodied beer with fruity notes, perfect for pairing with food thanks to its clean finish and proper carbonation.
Pro Tip: Their “bar-top happy hour” runs Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM-6:00 PM. It’s a great time to get discounted pints and appetizers.

Being part of the convention center means it’s usually filled with visitors. But don’t worry, as the staff at Huss are always on their toes, ensuring they get whatever you need in no time.
For something unique, check out Huss Brewing Downtown’s Coconut Joe. It’s a lightly sweet beer with gentle coconut notes over a crisp malt base.

One of the most fun highlights is their Mystery Beer. Yes, even the bartender doesn’t know what you’re getting.
While you’re here, don’t skip their beer cheese, which is a creamy dip made with real craft beer that pairs perfectly with their fries or pretzels. Their burgers are another must-try, so if you want something heavy with your pint, then this is a great choice.
Pro Tip: Before leaving Tombstone Brewing Company, consider checking their bathrooms. You’ll find urinals made from actual kegs.

If you’re the type who loves trying a bunch of different craft beers without committing to full pints, then Craft Beer Hop Stop is a must-visit.
They also have a growler fill station. This means you can bring your own reusable jug (or buy one there) and fill it with your favorite beer to take home.
All of their craft beers come in packs. What we really love is that they don’t mark up the price for singles, so you can mix and match flavors without overspending.
