5 Best Data Recovery Service Providers In Phoenix

5 Best Data Recovery Service Providers in Phoenix

How we picked

Expertise

The technicians must be industry-certified to ensure that they’re up to snuff on standards and best practices. They should also be equipped with the necessary tools and technical knowledge to manage different tools.

Quality of Services

We considered their speed of delivery considering how data is often an urgent and valuable asset. Through interviews, we also assessed their staff based on ease of communication and cooperation.

Security Practices

It’s essential that they’re compliant with regulations and can be trusted to handle private data. So, we browsed their track record and interviewed clients based on their experiences.

Cost

We prefer service providers who offer free consultations and a guarantee on their work, in case they weren’t able to recover the data. The costs should be proportional to the labor, but a detailed price list is a plus.

Pros

  • 30+ years of industry and business experience
  • Data recovery comes with a satisfaction guarantee
  • 1-year warranty on brand new parts and labor
  • Comprehensive scope of services including repairs and IT solutions
  • Can recover data from all kinds of media

Cons

  • No proven work with large corporations
  • Prices are a little more expensive compared to others

Data Doctors is a full-service company specializing in data recovery and computer repair for both residential and commercial users. The Arizona-based company has expanded to locations in Florida and San Diego over the years.

Ken Colburn, the company’s CEO, has been involved in the industry since 1986. He and a team of experts focus on small to medium enterprises, but also cater to individual needs from all four of their valley-wide branches.

Here, customers can bring their devices for a complimentary and no-obligation check-up. On the other hand, they can provide a full assessment for $59 in-store or in the comforts of your own home.

As luck would have it, they cover both logical corruption and physical damage when it comes to data loss. Their lead times can span from 24 hours for emergencies and up to two weeks for standard services.

Their scope of work is extensive regardless of what operating system, device, or software. Magnetic drives, phones, and SSDs are only some of the media they can recover data from.

It seems that a lot of their clients stand by their services and have worked with them for years, which is a good sign of regulatory compliance and security measures. However, they don’t seem to work with large corporations from what we’ve seen.

Their rates also seem more expensive than others from what we’ve heard, especially on top of an in-depth assessment fee.

Nevertheless, we think they’re definitely one to beat as they hold the cure for practically all kinds of data loss and have the quickest services in the valley.

Pros

  • 20+ years in business
  • Recommended by small local businesses
  • Rated A+ and BBB accredited
  • Security Suite Subscriptions offers a one-year virus-free warranty
  • Long operating hours and open on Saturdays
  • Some services are available remotely, in-home, and on-site

Cons

  • Doesn’t offer a guarantee on data recovery services
  • Rates are subject to increase prior notice

Ever since their inception in 1999, GeekForce.biz has grown to become one of the valley’s most trusted IT service providers and have the awards to prove it.

Aside from data recovery services, they offer custom networking systems and a full line of software and data solutions. A good portion of their clientele consists of small local businesses for these reasons.

They’re usually outsourced for network maintenance and repair for a flexible amount of time, but one-offs are also highly welcome from what we’ve heard.

Of course, they’re also inclined to serve individual workstations at home, both remotely or through house calls. Otherwise, general consumers have the option to visit their location.

It’s worth noting that they also personalize gaming rigs at competitive rates. They also offer computer and laptop repairs, plus they have an inventory for upgrades which includes SSDs and RAMs.

We heard one of their clients has been with them since their first few years in business and was happy to report that their services remain consistent 20 years later. They’re also apparently receptive to questions and concerns, no matter how many.

Moreover, we appreciate all the possible solutions they offer without the high-pressure sales and jargon. Clients feel confident and well-informed with their decisions as far as we’ve noticed.

Unfortunately, they don’t seem to provide a guarantee in case they fail to recover data. Their prices are also subject to increase with each visit, which is something to consider.

Pros

  • Team of certified data recovery specialists
  • Runs diagnostics and assessments for free
  • World-class facilities and equipment
  • Offers a guarantee on labor
  • Provides detailed pricing for flat rates on their website
  • Equipped with a Class 10 cleanroom

Cons

  • Doesn’t repair physical damages
  • Not a one-stop shop for device repairs and IT solutions

Desert Data Recovery was founded in 2013 by Tim Homer, who has significant experience in IT over the past 25 years. He and his team are all certified data recovery engineers and focus solely on retrieving data.

As a result, clients are confident that they’re getting the very best with a comprehensive scope of services. The company can handle all sorts of devices from SD cards to RAID arrays and internal or external drives.

That being said, physical damages on these devices are out of their scope.

Despite that, we like that they’re one of the few businesses of its kind with a fully-equipped Class 10 cleanroom. This means that your device will be managed in a dust-free environment with a laminar airflow system.

They’re also furnished with cutting-edge technology to recover lost data like the VNR NAND Chip Recovery Hardware and PC-3000 Flash, among many others.

Another thing we like about them is their “no data, no recovery fee” guarantee, which lifts the burden of paying a hefty amount of money in case no data is restored. They also accommodated 24/7 emergencies for RAID arrays at no extra charge.

We heard Tim and his staff are all friendly and responsive through texts, which takes the icing on the cake. We felt that they were genuine when it comes to assisting clients, even those who didn’t end up choosing their business.

All things considered, it’s no surprise that they’re trusted by both general consumers and large corporations. We think they’re unequaled with everything they have to offer.

Pros

  • Operates in a Class 100 cleanroom
  • Specializes in data recovery
  • Apple and Microsoft partner
  • Trusted by government institutions and businesses
  • High level of security practices including a HIPAA compliance
  • Amenable to work on all devices, including phones and CCTVs

Cons

  • Doesn’t repair physical damages on devices
  • No guarantee on results
  • Unresponsive to complaints

For two decades, SalvageData has been leading in data recovery nationwide. They have over 100 locations in the US and Canada, which is the most extensive coverage we’ve seen around.

Off the bat, the company boasts class 100 cleanrooms and government-standard security with its data recovery services. Their technicians are certified professionals who can operate on virtually any device and media.

Among these are HDDs, flash disks, NAS/SAN servers, and RAID systems to name a few. Having a full spectrum of offers allows them to take on any job, especially in the most challenging cases.

Additionally, they’re authorized to provide services for both Apple products and a trusted Microsoft partner.

Because of these, they’re trusted by both government organizations and businesses, down to the general consumer. For us, this puts them head and shoulders above any other service provider we’ve seen across the valley.

They’re further propelled up our list after being named the best in their field by reputable media outlets such as the Chamber of Commerce and Forbes.

Keep in mind that they only provide data recovery and nothing else. If you’re looking for some repairs along with retrieving valuable information, then we suggest looking somewhere else.

Still, no company is perfect and some clients reported failures in recovering their data, particularly for personal use. The customer service also doesn’t seem keen on resolving these kinds of complaints, which is alarming.

Part of the job is to assist clients especially when the business is unable to hold its end of the bargain. Considering the price of their rates, this may cost clients a lot of money on top of losing valuable data.

Pros

  • Highly conscientious and compliant with industry standards
  • Offers free basic assessments in-store
  • BBB-accredited and rated A+
  • Microsoft Partner Network and Intel Technology Provider Gold Partner
  • Technicians are responsive and informative on processes

Cons

  • Not equipped to work with mobile phones or tablets
  • Longer turnaround times compared to other service providers
  • Doesn’t offer a guarantee on data recovery services

Geeks in Phoenix is an IT consulting firm started by owner-operator Scott St. Gelais in late 2008. After years in the construction industry, he eventually found his calling in computer services.

His stint in architectural drafting apparently sparked his interest in computers after learning how to use computer-aided design (CAD). Instead of pursuing architecture as planned, he spent thirteen years in the IT department managing servers and networks.

His company offers a variety of services including computer repairs, website support, network development, and data recovery.

They’re very well-equipped with Microsoft and Intel products after undergoing specialized training and certifications by the same organizations. This means they’re also on top of the latest advancements when it comes to these brands.

On the other hand, they’re not as well-versed with Mac devices, as well as phones and tablets.

Their turnaround times are generally quick for computer repairs but data recovery takes more time for them compared to their counterparts. Still, we heard from many clients that they’re conscientious and compliant with industry standards and regulations.

For this reason, we’re confident that your device is in good hands. They’re also apparently generous with the information they give during consultations, remotely and in person.

Unfortunately, recovering data isn’t guaranteed which could mean the possibility of spending out-of-pocket and leaving empty-handed. So far, we haven’t seen anyone with this experience but we’re hopeful that they would have a guarantee policy in the future.
