7 Best Places to Get a Massage in Phoenix
How We Chose the Best Places for a Massage in Phoenix
Scope of Services
A lot of massage clients look for more than just one service. So, we considered how extensive these places’ service menus are.
Variety of Massages
We also took into account the different types of massages they offer.
Rates
We looked into how reasonable their rates are for the overall experience they provide clients.
Ambience
Another thing we considered is how relaxing and spa-like their environments are. We find that this is a big factor for most people looking to get a massage.
Customer Service
It was also important for us to consider those with good track records in customer service. People come here to feel relaxed and pampered, after all.

Pros
- Affordable rates
- Specializes in Therapeutic and Deep Tissue Massages
- Well-trained and knowledgeable therapists
- Memberships are available
- Open daily
Cons
- Limited service menu
- Walls too thin for our liking
Massage Escapes is one of the more affordable, specialized massage places out there.
What we like about them is how they keep things simple. You may choose from their Therapeutic Massage or Deep Tissue Massage–either one is facilitated by a trained and highly-skilled therapist.
Their therapists are well-versed in a variety of techniques such as trigger point therapy, sports massage, Thai massage, or myofascial release–all of which you may request for your appointment.
But if you’re looking for more variety, they offer other full-body treatments like Prenatal Massage, Bamboo Fusion, Lymphatic Massage, and more. Note, though, that they charge more for these.
They do have membership plans that start at $60 per month. We find this relatively affordable, especially for someone who comes in a lot.
We also find that their therapists are knowledgeable and experts at certain treatments assigned to them. It was a pleasant and relaxing experience that we wouldn’t mind coming back for.
Our only complaint is that we find the room walls too thin for our liking. Sometimes, it’s distracting when you can hear other people coming in and out of other rooms and walking past the hallway.
All things considered, we think they’re ace if you’re not too particularly looking for overly-complex massages.

Pros
- Owner is a licensed massage therapist for over two decades
- Helpful and attentive staff
- Extensively-trained expert therapists
Cons
- Smaller space which feels a bit cramped
- Rates are relatively higher
- Closed on Sundays
Space Massage Studio is, in our opinion, a hidden gem. It’s a quaint space with an unassuming exterior, but it’s the people working here that truly make it shine.
The owner, John, is a licensed massage therapist for over 20 years now. He maintains a hands-on approach in running the business, which is why their quality standards remain high.
When you call to book an appointment, it’s often John himself that answers the phone. He takes his time asking how they can help you and will recommend the best massage for your needs.
They’re strictly by appointment only, but there are some cases when they will squeeze you in, even for just an hour. And when no other therapists are available, John himself will be your therapist, which we think is a testament to their excellent service.
They have your typical massage menu of aromatherapy, deep tissue, and table Thai, but we’d recommend that you try their signature massage. It incorporates fluid strokes, hot towels, heating pads, and stretching to promote utmost relaxation.
Their rates are a bit higher than most, starting at $60 for a 30-minute massage. Considering the expertise of their therapists, though, we think it’s well-worth the splurge.

Pros
- Licensed, certified, and registered massage therapists
- Relaxing rooms with heated tables
- Open daily
Cons
- Reports of instances when other therapists are distracting
- Expensive rates
Fairly new at Phoenix is Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa. They’re not new to the business, though, as they have over 400 locations across the US and Canada.
Despite having a wide network of franchises, it’s impressive that they managed to maintain top ratings across all branches. Their Glendale location is no exception.
Here, we love how accommodating their staff members are. For first time visitors, they’ll get to know your medical history, past or present injuries, and other physical conditions they should be aware of.
This just helps them provide a safe and relaxing experience. And if you have any concerns, their licensed, certified, and registered therapists are all ears.
We love the ambience of the room as it’s equipped with individual speakers, lighting controls, and best of all – heated tables.
As for the massage, we love how the therapists truly listened to our concerns. Kristy was wonderful, and we’ve heard good things about her from her previous clients as well.
What we didn’t appreciate, though, was there were times when the therapists outside the room got rowdy to the point of being distracting. Apparently, it happens quite a lot, too.
Also note that their rates are quite pricey, starting at $110 for an hour of Swedish massage.
Other than that, the staff are very welcoming, cheerful, and we still found the experience worth returning to.
4. Lazy Bee Spa

Pros
- Professional and friendly staff members
- Dual-licensed massage therapists
- Serene and peaceful ambience
- Open daily
Cons
- Can be difficult to book an appointment
- Significantly higher service fees
- Limited variety of massages offered
The Lazy Bee Spa is a budding and buzzing little spa that’s seen immense success since opening last August 2020.
Even though they haven’t been around for long, they have a steady stream of loyal clients that increases day-by-day.
What we love about them is how professional and friendly their staff members are. Anna, their manager, was especially accommodating and constantly asked if there was anything else we needed to feel comfortable.
While their massage menu is a bit short, we do appreciate that they’ve mastered each one. Their therapists are dual-licensed and truly did display expertise in therapeutic massage.
We also liked the fact that they throw in aromatherapy of your choice and a free intensive hydrating foot masque for every 90-minute session.
Their space is quite small and there are only four treatment rooms available, so you can’t always be guaranteed an appointment. But they are helpful in finding a schedule that works best for you both.
As for their rates, they’re considerably more expensive. A 60-minute Swedish massage starts at $120 and goes up to $185 for a 90-minute session.
We find, though, that the experience was truly relaxing and serene. So if you can shell out more, we think they’re well-worth the money.
Also, we’d like to mention that they don’t accept cash payments. They only welcome cash-free payments and credit cards.
5. Massage Envy

Pros
- Customized massage sessions
- Specializes in a combination of stretching and rapid tension relief
- Allows combinations of different massage varieties
- Open daily
Cons
- Interior is a bit dated
- Few reports of appointments getting mixed up
Another popular wellness franchise is Massage Envy. Since 2002, they have impressively grown to over 1,000 locations – which speaks volumes about their customer satisfaction rate.
Here at Phoenix, they maintain the same high standards of service quality. We appreciate how they customize each massage session according to the client’s requests.
In fact, consultation is part of one’s session. You can opt for a specific massage technique, or you can request for a variety of combinations.
One of their best-selling massages is the combination of stretching and rapid tension relief. They’ll use rapid percussion technology to alleviate stress and relieve muscle tension in specific areas.
The massage is performed by highly-trained professionals for your safety and comfort.
We also find their therapists to be pleasant people who are always attentive to clients. They thoroughly listen to concerns and will give ample suggestions for the best treatments for you.
An area we think they could work on is sprucing the place up a bit. Some carpets look dated, a few walls have peeling paint, and we think lighting could be better.
Also, we’ve heard of some instances where appointments get mixed up. Make sure to call beforehand to confirm your schedule with them.

Pros
- Variety of services
- Owned by a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist
- Excellent and effective services
- Knowledgeable staff
- Membership available
Cons
- Closed on Sundays
Coyote Bodywork is one of the best places we know for integrative massage and bodywork solutions. Whether you need to relax and unwind with a full body massage or improve pain and mobility with a focused bodywork session, they have a solution for you!
We like the range of services they offer and how they’re tailored to address one’s health goals and specific needs of the body.
Their services include relaxation massage, therapeutic massage, Thai massage, cupping, percussive therapy, and therapeutic oils.
We also like their belief in the importance of massage and bodywork, and how it’s often an overlooked medical practice. They hope to correct this and set a new industry standard so people get quality healthcare, and they have surely done so.
We’ve tried out their massage services and we can vouch that it’s one of the best we’ve had! They’ve helped relieve many of our chronic pains that we couldn’t seem to get relieve of prior to trying them out.
They truly set the standard for high quality service. Their team is very easy going and incredibly great at what they do.
We think they’re exceptional and so do their many other clients we’ve asked. We highly recommend!

Pros
- More than 30 years in the industry
- Variety of services and treatments
- Experienced and professional team
- Relaxing environment
Cons
- Closed on Sundays
- By appointment only on Saturdays
- Small variety of massage therapies
Dr. Monte Hessler specializes in chiropractic, but offers a variety of other treatments to relax the body and make one feel much better.
For over three decades, they’ve helped many Arizonians live their best lives which we think is amazing.
They have a variety of services, including Massage Therapy, Acupuncture, Sports Medicine, Back Pain Treatment, Headache Treatment, Chiropractic Services, and others.
Of course, we’re sure you’ve come here to know more about their massage therapy services. Compared to other places, we have to admit that they have few options as they only have Swedish Massage and Deep Tissue Massage.
But nonetheless, we think the massage therapies they offer are worth it. They’ve helped heal various conditions like stiffness and soreness, tension headaches, sports injuries, myofascial pain, and anxiety and stress to name a few.
We think that their entire office is also very efficient, which makes going to their clinic a seamless and pleasant experience. For more, the place itself is comfortable and welcoming which also adds to the experience.
All in all, we highly recommend!
