Anthem, Phoenix, is a planned community within the city limits of Phoenix and partially within the New River census-designated place. As of the 2020 census, Anthem had a population of 23,190.
Anthem was developed by Del Webb in 1998. It’s built on 5,856 acres at the base of Daisy Mountain and Gavilan Peak, with an average elevation of 1,863 feet.
The community is known for its year-round activities and amenities, including a large community center, Olympic-size pool, water park, bike paths, and a 63-acre community park.

1. Rental Car
Rental cars are readily available at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX). The drive from Phoenix to Anthem is a breeze, taking about 30 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic.
2. Ride Sharing
Ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are available at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and throughout the Phoenix area.
3. Public Transportation
To get to Anthem from Phoenix via Valley Metro, you can take the bus from 19th Ave & Jefferson St to Happy Valley Rd. The Valley Metro system offers fare options, including 1-ride tickets, day passes, and monthly passes.
The bus runs every 30 minutes and costs $2 to 4. Alternatively, you can take the Valley Metro Rail Red Line from east Mesa to Metrocenter Mall in northwest central Phoenix and then transfer to a bus to Anthem.
