Top 6 Business Brokers in Phoenix
How We Chose the Best Business Brokers in Phoenix
Qualifications
We looked into these brokers’ years of experience, as well as licenses and certifications they have that are specific to brokering businesses.
Scope of Services
e considered the variety and sizes of industries that they work with. This is because we understand that some business brokers only work with specific industries.
Trustworthiness
A client-broker relationship should always be held in high regard. So, we took into account the value they place on confidentiality and how reliable they are in closing deals.
Ease of Communication
It was also imperative for us to look into how responsive and available they are to clients.

Pros
- Has been recognized as “Broker of the Year” several times by the Arizona Business Broker Association
- Works will a variety of companies in all industries and sizes
- Open daily with relatively long business hours
Cons
- Significantly higher commission fee
- Can be difficult to get a hold of a meeting schedule
Brian Bond is one of the top business brokers not just in Phoenix, but in Arizona. He’s a certified business broker and has been named “Broker of the Year” several times by the Arizona Business Broker Association.
On top of that, he has also been given accolades for having the highest number of businesses sold within the association and his team.
Suffice it to say, he walks the talk and has the experience to back it all up.
He established the Strategic Business Brokers Group in 2011. They’re a small team of just three professionals, so scheduling meetings can be difficult at times as their calendar gets booked quickly.
They work with a good variety of companies in all industries and sizes. A lot of their previous and current clients find this so convenient, as they no longer need to search for different brokers in different industries.
What we like about Brian is how hands-on and dedicated he is to his clients. Apparently, he makes himself available to them at all times – even during weekends, holidays, and late hours.
It also seems that he’s incredibly patient in guiding clients across complex documents and processes. And, he really takes his time listening to what clients are looking for, in order to make the best sale or purchase.
The only thing is that his commission fee is significantly higher than some. Though, most of his clients don’t mind as much, considering his topnotch quality of service.

Pros
- One of the very few holders of the Certified Business Intermediary designation in Arizona
- Has over two decades of sales and marketing experience
- Comes with a good track record in buying and selling millions worth of businesses
- Very strict when it comes to confidentiality
Cons
- Unavailable at times to take on new clients
- Quality of service isn’t consistent in their firm
Phil Reese is one of the very few holders of the Certified Business Intermediary designations in the state.
This means that he passed a series of masterclasses and attended conferences all over the US to prove his competence in the facilitation of business sales.
He is also an active member of the International Business Brokers Association and the AZ Business Brokers Association. And, he has over two decades of sales and marketing experience.
What impresses us most, however, is his extensive list of successfully-sold and -acquired businesses across all industries. He was able to close deals worth anywhere from $100,000 to $31,000,000!
We also really appreciate how strict he is when it comes to confidentiality. All his ads are done on a blind basis, and he insists on having potential buyers come to his office for him to meet personally before disclosing any detailed information.
If you’re interested in hiring him as your business broker, you may have to wait a while for a few slots to free up. He comes highly-recommended which makes him unavailable at times for new clients.
While he has a lot of glowing recommendations, the same cannot be said for the company he works for. Apparently, some of their staff members are unaccommodating and in some cases, downright rude – which is a huge turn off for initial inquiries.

Pros
- Has been in business since 1975
- Consistently ranks at the top 2% of national business sales
- Each team member has a minimum of 10 years experience in sales and marketing
- Able to deliver deals within the agreed upon timeframe at full price
Cons
- Some clients find them a little too straightforward
- Slow to respond to phone calls and emails
UBI Business Brokers of Arizona has been around since 1975. Their longevity is a testament to their track record – having consistently ranked in the top 2% of national business sales.
They’re known to be sharp negotiators and aggressive marketers. We’d expect no less from their dream team, having a baseline of at least a decade of experience in sales and marketing.
The owner, Jim DeDario, remains involved in the business by taking on clients himself and staying updated in all deal proceedings. We’ve heard from their previous clients that he’s extremely professional, helpful, and down-to-earth.
We always appreciate when the higher-ups of a successful business stay hands-on. The way we see it, it’s a telltale sign of dedication and commitment.
Moreover, Jim seems to be quite knowledgeable about the ins-and-outs of businesses in various industries. In most cases, deals are closed not just within the promised timeline, but at full price, too.
While being a straight-shooter is generally a good quality in a business broker, some clients find them a little too straightforward. Apparently, they have a reputation for being hard-sell on certain deals they want clients to take.
We also wish that they’d work on having a better communication line with potential clients. Apparently, they take days to get back to inquiries and even longer to return emails.
4. Brian Harron – Arizona Restaurant Sales

Pros
- Specializes in brokering for the food and drink industry
- Has over 30 years of experience as a restaurateur and a restaurant broker
- Has won several awards, including Top Producer and Top Producing Team from the Arizona Business Brokers Association
Cons
- Limited to the acquisition and sales of restaurants and bars
- Closed on Sundays
Arizona Restaurant Sales is composed of a boutique team of award-winning restaurant brokers. They specialize in – you guessed it – sales and acquisitions of restaurants.
Now we know that we mentioned appreciating business brokers with a good scope of services, but we think that their expertise in this area is worthy of a mention.
Brian Harron, their principal broker, has over 30 years of experience as a restaurateur and a restaurant broker. He is currently part of the Board of Directors of the Arizona Business Brokers Association.
He has also won several awards as a Top Producer and the Top Producing Team from said organization. Evidently, these are quite telling of his successful business and management style.
His excellent track record is what clients come to him for. It appears that more than being professional, he’s also very hardworking and dedicated to getting the best deals for his clients.
We’ve also heard that his team is just as dedicated as he is. It seems that even after a deal closes, they keep their lines open for clients to call and seek guidance from.
And from what we’ve found, they were able to close millions of dollars worth of deals across the entire valley. So if you’re in the food industry looking to buy or sell your business, we think they’re a solid choice for a broker.
5. Tim Whipple – Sunbelt Business Brokers

Pros
- Has a 95% successful close rate for strategic listings
- Local brokers with deep knowledge of the neighborhood and businesses in it
- Certified Main Street Business Broker and an active member of the International Business Brokers Association
- Has closed over $300 million in business sales
Cons
- Limited scope of business industries serviced
- Closed on Sundays
Sunbelt Business Brokers prides themselves in having an extensive and powerful network of buyers and sellers in nearly every industry.
They have an effective and efficient listing strategy in place, too, that attracts potential clients. Impressively enough, they have a 95% successful close rate since the beginning of their business.
What’s more is that most of their brokers are Phoenix locals. As such, they truly know the neighborhood and are knowledgeable in businesses within the area.
Among them is Tim Whipple, their designated broker and a Certified Main Street Business Broker. He’s a master in commercial real estate and business sale transactions, and has over $300 million of sales rendered throughout his career.
From what we’ve heard, he’s super personable and easy to approach. He makes the long and difficult process easy for his clients, and keeps them updated all throughout.
They provide brokerage services for a good scope of industries including automotive, personal services, retail, food and beverage, and franchise resales. Still, it’s not as encompassing as other similar companies in their field.
All things considered, we think you’d be in really capable and reliable hands with them.

Delta Business Advisors is a company that empowers both buyers and sellers when it comes to achieving their respective goals when it comes to business and other interrelated acquisitions. We like that they offer a free consultation for new clients to help them select and present options on how to go about their particular businesses and investments all without a fee or obligation.
Clients who have worked with them in the past have commended them for their practical and educational approach to giving sound business advice for every situation their clientele may find themselves in.

Nonetheless, with their readily accessible renounce articles, accommodating and professional team of experts, and diversified approaches, we highly recommend them to clients in the area looking for such services.
