Established in 1986, Copyfast Printing Center is known as Scottsdale’s premier printing service with a range of products on offer.  They promise fast and affordable services without compromising on quality, and we tried to see for ourselves.

Visiting their website is often the first port of call, and we weren’t disappointed with what they had in store. Printing is available for any purpose, whether for personal, business, or creative use.

Among these are digital and offset printing to cater to short runs or mass production needs, respectively. Other methods include variable data and large-format printing, which are great for marketing purposes.

Speaking of, they also provide direct mailing services which include designing, printing, and mailing promotional materials like pamphlets and brochures. Printing is also possible on other items like shirts, pens, mugs, and even hats.

We like that everything is done on location with print specialists and even graphic designers at the ready. We think the latter is ideal for those who prefer custom designs but aren’t equipped to create their own.

No business is perfect and they’ve definitely had a few minor slip-ups here and there. Some select customers didn’t get their orders within the agreed time, which led to a missed deadline for one of them.

We also wished there was a better way to upload files like through a detailed transfer system or form for instance. As of now, emailing them is your best bet.

We also recommend carefully weighing the costs first, since custom details like embossed text could yield a higher price than expected. If you’re not from the area, you’ll need to drive a bit since it’s not exactly near Central Phoenix.

Allied Print & Design is a family-owned and -operated business with over four decades of printing and graphics experience. They were initially located in Chicago but later relocated to Arizona in 1992.

They’re a full-service company that runs the gamut from small to large format prints. As far as we’ve seen, they’re especially skilled with brochures, business cards, flyers, signages, and anything that involves marketing or business.

As a result, most of their clientele are also small business owners, entrepreneurs, and professionals. One of them even commended the staff for taking creative liberties in enhancing and correcting small details, overall contributing to the final output.

Apart from these, they also provide complete options for finishing and binding. We think it’s convenient that they’re a one-stop shop with a range of modalities, except on fabric or items like mugs and pens.

We also like that they have a detailed online form where customers can upload their files and indicate the settings. This cuts down time with back-to-back correspondence if it were done without a specific online form.

However, some customers have reported that it takes a little while for them to respond, which could mean delays if you’re in a bind. Otherwise, they’re happy about the print quality and top-shelf customer service.

They also only print in CMYK, which means that the printed product won’t accurately match if Pantone colors are used on the original file.

Still, we like that they have the extra step of sending back a mock-up to make sure you’re happy with what you see. They’ll make the necessary adjustments in case there are minor changes, but only before printing.

With a worldwide network of 270 locations and over 30 years in business, AlphaGraphics has become one of the leading printers in the country. Ten branches are currently up and running all over the valley, which makes them highly accessible.

After inspecting each location, we found that the one along Camelback Road offers the best services, not to mention its prime location. Still, we like that their stores are a stone’s throw away in every area of the metro.

Unlike its counterparts, we were immediately provided with a portfolio of their past projects on one cohesive page on their website. This gives customers a better way of visualizing their printing capabilities, which is a lot by the way.

Among those featured are event tents and promotional materials, signages on varying surfaces, and even human-scale standees. When it comes to media substrates, the possibilities are endless.

Another thing we like is that they go out of their way to procure materials as requested by the client and work within a strict budget. This may be the reason why a lot of small business swear by their services.

Sad to say, their staff may come off as unhelpful for some customers based on what we’ve heard. This is apparent when it comes to complications in printing and coloring where the staff is less than inclined in helping resolve the matter.

Although they have a lot to offer and are equipped with high-end technology, we hope they could improve in this area. Being consistent with customer service, regardless if the project is small or large, goes a long way in business.

ARC Document Solutions has a network of almost 200 locations that offer comprehensive printing services. They primarily serve other businesses and  professionals, which has them consistently deliver high-quality products.

What sets them apart from the others is that they specialize in construction documents and architectural drawings. These often require great attention to detail, so we know what to expect from them, more or less.

Plus, shops that are equipped to support very detailed plans are harder to come around, making them a go-to for those in the construction industry. One was happy to report that they also accommodate rush printing, and we appreciate the sense of urgency.

Suffice it to say that they’re your best bet if you’re pressed for time since their turnaround is typically fast from what we’ve heard.  It’s a small wonder why even the biggest brand names, companies, and educational institutions trust them.

They also boast the most advanced equipment in the industry and specialists that are more than capable to run them. They have 3D printing, large-format scanning, and drone services among others, which catapults them above the competition.

If you’re experiencing technical errors with your files, they’re apparently more than willing to sort it out for you, which is great. 

If you’re only printing one-offs or even single-page documents, they’ll meet you with the same quality of service according to a customer we interviewed. Note that, unlike other shops, they don’t offer direct mailing services.

Despite being the big box store of printing services, we’re fans of the seamless services from small to large projects. All things considered, we think they’re one of the best in the valley.

Biltmore Pro Print is set out to go above and beyond what customers expect of them, which was made apparent to us when we tried them out ourselves. 

For one, they seem to be really passionate about what they do and it shows in the final product. Aaron Quartullo, the owner, is apparently always on top of things and sees to it that every deadline is met and every project is accurate to a T.

According to a customer we spoke with, they worked with four different printing services for at least 8 years before finally establishing rapport with this company. One business owner has even stood by their services for 10 years and counting, which says a lot.

For loyal clients, they have a document library system in place that simplifies the process of ordering in case you need to reorder a project. Of course, this allows room for adjustments. 

As we scrolled through their list of offers, we like that it’s both wide-ranging and arranged alphabetically to easily navigate through. Pretty much anything can be done at their shop from advertising specialty items to wire-binding.

Secondly, they’ve been around for over 40 years serving other homegrown businesses all over the valley. It helps that they’re conveniently accessible along Camelback Road so customers wouldn’t have to go leaps and bounds to reach them.

On the other hand, we wished they had an in-house delivery service, especially for those coming from the outskirts of the metro. This also cuts down on time in case customers would need them in a rush.

They’re also close quite early compared to their counterparts, which is something to consider.
