A Guide to the 5 Best Apartments in Phoenix

A Guide to the 5 Best Apartments in Phoenix

How We Chose the Best Apartments in Phoenix

Location

We looked into how convenient these apartments’ locations were. We did this by looking at nearby establishments, as well as how commute-friendly the place is.

Amenities

We also considered the amenities available, both in the apartments and the community complex.

Maintenance

This was big in our book, as we understand that most tenants often need 24/7 maintenance. This is just to be practical, in case an issue arises in the middle of the night.

Cleanliness

We took into account how clean and sanitary these apartment complexes were. Proper waste management should not be taken lightly, after all.

Customer Service

In this criterion, we looked at the overall quality of their service to the tenants. Staff attentiveness, demeanor, and ease of communication were our bases for this.

Pros

  • Convenient and commute-friendly location
  • Spacious floor plans
  • Comes with modern finishes and appliances
  • Pet-friendly
  • 24/7 maintenance services available

Cons

  • Carpets and floors used relatively cheaper materials
  • Relatively expensive rental fees

Located in the up-and-coming neighborhood of the North Gateway district is Acero North Valley. It’s an easy commute from the I-17, the Loop 101, and the AZ-51, which makes it conveniently near shopping districts, schools, and community parks.

It’s an upscale apartment community that has equally upscale features. We absolutely love how spacious the floor plans are and how sophisticated the interiors were designed.

Each apartment is equipped with modern finishes – stainless steel appliances, full-sized washer and dryer units, granite countertops, and more. Some units even come with walk-in closets and a designated pantry.

However, it seems that the quality of materials used – particularly in the carpets and floors – are not as great. A few tenants have mentioned that cheaper materials were used.

As pet lovers ourselves, our favorite thing about this complex is how pet-friendly it is. They even have a huge dog park within the apartment complex!

If having a fitness center is important to you, we’re happy to say that they have a brand-new and well-equipped gym. There’s also a pool you can do laps in and a hot tub to relax in after a good workout.

In case you need something urgent from the maintenance crew, they’re available 24/7. We’ve also heard that they have friendly staff members who are always willing to help the tenants.

The apartments do come with a hefty price tag, but considering all the amenities and the quality of service, we think they’d be a great place to live in.

Pros

  • Located at the center of downtown
  • Beautifully-designed facade and interiors
  • Apartments come with modern features
  • Tight-knit and welcoming community

Cons

  • Relatively small floor areas
  • Significantly expensive rental fees

If you’d like to be at the center of the urban metropolis, Circa Central Avenue is one of your best bets. It’s a contemporary midrise building located smack in the middle of downtown.

What we like about this place is how well they were able to utilize the space. The communal spaces are located at the rooftop, along with the fitness center and a pool with a stunning view of the city.

That being said, the building itself is beautiful. We think that they were able to capture that intimate but modern and striking vibe they were going for.

The apartments are well-built and have modern features, too. They made use of quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, and tile backsplashes.

We think that even with limited space, one can comfortably move around and not feel too cramped. But if you’re the type of tenant who loves having a bigger space, this place may not be for you.

Another reason why we love this apartment is the spirit of community. Tenants often say that everyone is friendly and helpful to one another.

Aaron, the leasing agent, is a nice fellow who makes the moving and rental process as easy as possible. It seems that he doesn’t make false promises to anyone interested in the building.

Pros

  • Has unique amenities that are open 24/7
  • Pet-friendly
  • Has three-bedroom apartments available
  • Apartments have relatively tall ceilings

Cons

  • No furnished apartments available
  • Amenities are relatively smaller in size

Alta Warehouse District is also conveniently-located downtown. What we love about it is how eclectic it is – in the best way possible, of course.

We say that because it has amenities that are almost unheard of for an apartment complex. Among those are a music room, a speakeasy with a lounge, a cyber cafe, and a club room with a TV wall, games, and even a photobooth.

They’re also a pet-friendly place and they have a small dog park. And, all amenities are open 24/7, so you can take your pooch out for a walk or go to the gym anytime you’d like.

Suffice it to say, they gave a lot of thought into making the complex as comfortable and inclusive as they could. We have to give them major props for that.

The apartments also feature 9-foot ceilings (relatively taller than most in this area), stainless steel appliances, a smart thermostat, and RFID entries. The bigger ones come with a walk-in shower, an oval tub, and more advanced tech packages.

A downside is that they don’t have furnished apartments available. But they do work with a furniture rental company, should you need to avail of it.

Pros

  • Located in a prime gated community
  • Provides convenient access to nearby commute stations
  • Layout was designed to give unobstructed views of the city
  • Ample-sized apartments with a full bath and terrace
  • Relatively affordable rental fees

Cons

  • Limited to one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments
  • Additional fees for pets; breed approval is required

Park on Bell is within a gated community on the north, central part of the city. The I-17, Loop 101, and AZ-51 are all a mere walking distance away from the apartment complex.

It’s also conveniently-located near shopping districts, farmers markets, and several restaurants. It’s within a butterfly sanctuary, too, so there are a lot of flora and fauna around.

As for its interiors, we love how timeless and classic the design they had in mind was. They made use of natural quartz and stone finishes, and made sure that the layout provided unobstructed views of the valley.

We’d like to point out that they only have one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. So if you’re looking for a studio or someplace bigger, this isn’t the place for you.

The apartments are well-spaced in the sense that they’re not too big and they’re not too small. They were even able to work in a full bath, a good-sized closet, and a terrace for their smallest rooms.

Now let’s talk about their amenities. We think they’re quite ample and standard – a pool, a full-service fitness center, and a clubhouse with a resident lounge.

Pets are allowed, too, but only a maximum of two. There’s also an additional fee for any pet and they’re still subject to breed approval.

Considering how convenient the location is, we do think that the rent is relatively affordable and reasonable.

Pros

  • In a quiet neighborhood but still very accessible from the city
  • Relatively affordable rental fees
  • Offers flexible lease terms
  • Apartments have hardwood floors, patios or balconies, and full baths
  • Pet-friendly

Cons

  • Only offers one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments
  • Limited amenities available

Park Paloma Apartments is located just outside downtown near Old Town Scottsdale. It’s in a vibrant suburb that provides tenants a quiet ambience; but it’s still close enough to all the city action.

They have one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments available for relatively affordable fees. Their cheapest room starts at just $1415 per month – a steal in this area and for the room features that they have.

Another thing that we like is that they have flexible lease terms and the property manager is quite helpful. Short-term and long-term rentals are available, too.

All the rooms come with hardwood floors (a big step up from the usual vinyl plank flooring), a patio or a balcony, and a full bath with a tub and shower. However, stainless steel appliances and washer and dryers are only available in select units.

Pets are welcome here with no additional fees. And although a dog park isn’t available inside, the surrounding neighborhood is safe and pleasant enough to take a walk around.

They provide the basic gym, pool, and spa amenities, but those are pretty much it. Storage units are available for additional fees, though, should you need more space for your stuff.
