What we like most about them, however, is the quality of service they provide. See, their shopkeepers are incredibly patient and helpful to customers.

In some cases when a customer can’t physically come to the store, the transaction can be done over the phone. They make sure to keep an open line of communication and lay everything on the table for complete transparency.

No hidden charges, no excessive additional fees – they only charge for the products you purchase. 

Labor fees are a different story, though. We find their service fees for bike repairs and refittings relatively more expensive than most.

But, it’s quite obvious how knowledgeable their staff members are. They not only provide sound suggestions, but they also make sure that customers leave with full details on how to keep their bikes in tip-top shape.

Unfortunately, some customers have had issues with delayed shipments. Even with bike repairs, we’ve heard of reports that they were unable to deliver on the agreed upon timeframe.

If you’re looking for a full-service bike shop, Bike Barn would be one of your best bets. They offer bikes at every price range, along with fittings, repairs, maintenance, overhauls, and more.

The thing about this store is that it’s run by certified bike experts. From the manager to the mechanics, every staff member has had decades of experience in their own field.

Mary, in particular, has been the store manager since 1987. She’s also a founding member of the Mountain Bike Association of Arizona (MBAA) and was a board member for over 14 years.

While they’re a reliable store for all your bike and bike parts needs, they’re best known for the additional services they offer. They’re also quick to finish jobs and in most cases, are able to deliver before the set deadline.

Note that these do come at a hefty cost, as most of their products and service fees are relatively more expensive. Though, most of their customers don’t seem to mind considering the quality of service.

We do wish they’d work on being more responsive over the phone. It seems that some customers have had trouble getting their calls returned and more than a few inquiries were left unanswered.

When it comes to business longevity, Landis Cyclery has over a century’s worth! This humble store has been around since 1912 and continues to serve bike enthusiasts across the valley.

They’re a family-owned business that managed to keep the “community spirit” alive among their loyal customer base. Think of them as your friendly neighborhood bike shop.

They also have an unmatched selection of bikes and cycling gear, including ones from top brands such as Trek, Specialized, and more. In fact, they’re the state’s largest Trek dealer which allows customers to choose from a much wider selection.

We also like how they offer a free 90-day tune up for all bikes they sell. This makes breaking the bike in hassle- and worry-free for a lot of customers.

Most of their staff members are knowledgeable and super helpful in providing valuable insight, too. We always appreciate when sound advice is given, rather than the common attempt to upsell.

Unfortunately, the service quality isn’t as consistent as we’d like. Some customers reported encounters with rude and dismissive personnel.

Also, it appears that they’ve had issues with delayed repairs as well. A few customers have had to wait for more than a week than the initially-quoted timeframe.

Exhale Bikes Inc is owned by Nathan and Jessie Andrews, who are self-confessed bike enthusiasts themselves. They opened shop in 2007 and has since built a reputation for being a full-service bike store.

Apart from buying and getting your bike repaired, you can also rent bikes, clothing, parts, accessories, and basically anything you might need here. We think this option is extremely helpful to those looking to save some big bucks.

And speaking of saving money, they sell pre-owned bikes, too. So if you’re a beginner looking to just dip your toes into cycling, this would be a great option.

They’re also the leading retailer of top bike brand, Specialized. This means that you can choose from a wider array of such bikes, equipment, and apparel.

We do, however, find that the selection of bike brands they offer are quite limited. 

In terms of added services, they have expert bike fitters and mechanics. They make sure to only employ those with extensive experiences in their own fields.

Unfortunately, it seems that more than a few customers have had negative experiences with some of their staff members. According to them, some were unprofessional and unhelpful when it comes to answering inquiries.

We’ve heard of reports regarding hidden fees, too, especially in the labor costs. We really hope that they work on resolving these issues as soon as possible.

Global Bikes & E-Bikes is a locally-owned and -operated shop since 2001. They’re an award-winning store that has impressively been named as one of “America’s Best Bike Shops” by the National Bicycle Dealers Association.

They carry nearly every bike kind and brand in-store. And, they’re a top-rated Trek retailer which means that you get more options and better repair and maintenance services for this specific brand.

What we like about them is that their service technicians are factory-trained for any bike make or model. Whether you need an expert bike tune up, a fork rebuild, or custom wheels, they’ve got you covered.

Their real edge, though, is their famous Service For Life Policy. For just $89, you get unlimited tune ups for your bike!

The policy, though, is only available for new bikes bought, is non-transferable, and excludes labor fees. Still, it’s quite a steal considering the amount of work that they’ll guarantee your bike for as long as it lasts you.

As for their service fees, we do find them steep and significantly more expensive. Then again, you’re paying for experts and quality service, so we still think they’re well-worth the splurge.

We’ve also heard a few reports of delays in their repair services. Apparently, some customers have had to make several follow up calls regarding the availability of the bikes they brought in.

We know it’s a common issue in the industry, but we still hope they work on improving their service in this regard.
