The 5 Best Driving Instructors in Phoenix with Lessons That Won’t Drive You Crazy

  • ADOT and MVD Authorization: We prioritized driving schools licensed by the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). These providers can legally issue Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) road test waivers.
  • Instructor Qualifications: We checked that every driving academy employs certified educators and extensively background-checked professionals. They must also operate dual-controlled training vehicles for maximum safety.
  • Curriculum Range: We looked for schools offering specialized instruction for teens and adult beginners. We also favored places providing defensive driving classes and traffic survival courses.
  • Convenience and Student Feedback: We focused on highly rated Phoenix driving schools that offer door-to-door pick-up options. Flexible scheduling and strong customer satisfaction ratings were major deciding factors.

Learning to navigate busy roads can feel overwhelming for teens and adults alike. You want someone patient and knowledgeable sitting in the passenger seat.

Wonderful driving instructor

My teenage daughter just completed the driving course to get her license and Stop and Go was an excellent driving school, worth every penny.  Alba was the driving instructor and she was wonderful, she was helpful and put my daughter at ease and made her feel confident in her driving skills and ability.

Great instructor

My experience with Stop and Go was great. I started my series of four lessons not fully sure if I was ready for my license but by my fourth lesson I passed the test with full confidence. My instructor Harrison was great. He always was a great coach and supported me on the road. I was able to grow my confidence as a driver and learn safely thanks to him. I would recommend Stop and Go to anyone.

Extremely patient and professional

I had a positive experience with my recent driving lessons. My instructor, Aaron, was amazing—extremely patient and professional. He ensured I was well-informed on everything I needed to know before we even began the practical driving sessions. Furthermore, I found your pricing to be very reasonable.

I will certainly recommend Deer Valley Driving School to anyone looking to obtain their driver’s permit or license.

Highly recommend

Great experience getting my license. Allan is a very knowledgable and patient instructor, always giving solid advice on the best practices for safe driving, pinpointing mistakes and sharing his own tips that make execution of maneuvers like reverse / parallel parking much easier. His humour and stories also made the sessions fun and enjoyable. Thanks to his guidance, in just 4 lessons I was able to complete the road test with confidence and would highly recommend him and this company for anyone looking to get their license!

Customer Reviews:

Really fun, very informative

Went to driving school today and I loved the class. I took a class last time which was 7 or 8 years ago and I remember it was very boring. The instructor today was really fun but also very informative. We went through the class farely quickly and got out early. It was a well structured lesson.

Highly recommend

Stan was a very interesting instructor and asked class members good questions. He had many examples of common driving situations and vehicle accidents; then he ended with a fascinating story of his own experience with a stalker car. I learned a lot of new information about insurance coverages, and alcohol levels. I highly recommend Jacob’s driving school, not boring!
