A Review of the 5 Best Water Softeners in Phoenix
How We Chose the Best Water Softeners in Phoenix
Expertise
Installing water softening systems require very specific technical skills. So, we considered these companies’ years of experience and reliability based on their track records from previous clients.
Unit Selection
We also looked into their selection of water softener units available. This is because we know that some clients have preferred brands or systems.
Warranty Terms
It was important for us to look into how helpful their warranty terms are in terms of its coverage and ease of claim.
Customer Service
As always, we took into account how easy communicating with these companies are and how attentive they are to their clients.

Pros
- Has been in business since 1928
- Services both residential and commercial properties
- All products are IAPMO R&T-certified
- Has a wide-encompassing extended warranty program
Cons
- Services and products are relatively more expensive
- Few reports of billing mishaps
When it comes to years of experience, Rayne Water has it in spades. Their business has been around since 1928!
For decades now, they’ve been providing both residential and commercial properties with a vast range of water treatment systems. They specialize in water softeners and offer a wide scope of units for these.
Another thing we’d like to point out is that their products are of the highest quality – all of which are certified by IAPMO R&T which verified material security, integrity, and system efficiency.
And they haven’t stopped there. We love the fact that they offer some of the best warranties for water softeners in the industry.
Their extended warranty program is a tiered system where you may choose between VIP Platinum and VIP Gold. It includes regular salt deliveries, filter changes, annual preventive maintenance, and any repairs you might need.
Clients appreciate this extended warranty program because even if it costs a little extra, it does provide a great sense of ease to know that they’re covered should any issue arise.
And from what we’ve heard, it’s super easy to claim it because the warranty starts as soon as your system is installed. No additional forms required – and you get the first two months for free.
Note, though, that their services are relatively more expensive and that there are a few instances of mishaps in billings. We do hope they work on resolving this soon.

Pros
- Has been in business for over 85 years
- Has affordable services and products
- Often has special offers for clients
- Employs knowledgeable and courteous technicians
Cons
- Limited selection of water softeners
- Warranty terms could be presented more clearly
- Could work on providing better customer service training to phone service reps
Culligan of Phoenix is another top-rated water treatment company in Phoenix with over 85 years of experience.
They’re known for having a wide range of products, although we did find their selection for water softeners quite limited. The upside, though, is that they have a good mix of salt-free and salt-based ones.
Another thing we like about them is how affordable their services and products are. And, they often have special offers available on their website – including free water tests and low monthly rates.
Although, we do wish they had more transparent warranty terms. It appears that some clients have had some issues with claims because the fine print wasn’t clear.
What their previous clients often commend them for is how quick and efficient they work. Apparently, setting up an appointment with them is a breeze and their technicians promptly show up on one’s door.
And from what we’ve heard, the technicians are knowledgeable and patient in explaining the process to clients. It seems that they’re courteous, too, and respectful to their clients’ home by cleaning up after themselves.
Another area we think they could work on is their customer service. We’ve heard of some complaints that their phone service reps aren’t as helpful and are quite dismissive.

Pros
- Has been around for over 30 years
- Services both residential and commercial properties
- Relatively affordable rates and products
- Open daily
Cons
- Warranty terms aren’t as encompassing as others
- More known as plumbers than water softener installers
- Could work on providing better customer service training to phone service reps
30 years since they first set up shop, Advanced Water Systems has grown to be a leader in providing water conditioning and purification systems across the valley.
They provide these to residential and commercial properties alike. Even though they’re more known to be plumbers, they are quite experienced in installing water softeners.
Their units are of high quality and are relatively affordable. They feature easy-to-program fleck 7000 valves, customizable tanks, and are locally-made.
When it comes to warranty terms, they provide a simple limited warranty that spans five years. And it doesn’t include filter replacement, membrane, or labor charges.
It may not be as great as other warranties offered by similar companies, but it’s better than nothing.
What clients often say about them is that their technicians are friendly and efficient. It seems that they get the job done within the time allotted – sometimes even before that.
They also appear to be incredibly professional and only recommended services or products that clients really need. We always appreciate when companies don’t upsell because it shows that they’re just after honest pricing and work.
We also like that they remain open even on weekends. Not all clients are available on weekdays and we think that in this case, it’s the little things that count.

Pros
- Family-owned and -operated for over 30 years now
- Owner is a “Certified Water Specialist” and a member of the National Water Quality Association
- Known for excellent customer service
Cons
- Limited brands of water softeners offered
- Rates are relatively more expensive
Soft Water Plus is a family-owned and -operated company for over 30 years now. They offer everything related to water treatment – from salt delivery to water softener installation.
One thing we’d like to point out is that their owner, Pete Schneider, was given the “Certified Water Specialist” designation by the WQA certification program.
This entails recognition for high professional standards, strong expertise, and improved customer service.
They’re also a member of the National Water Quality Association, which proves that they’re a premiere water treatment company committed to ethical standards.
When it comes to water softeners, the selection is quite limited to just Hellenbrand and B-R Industries brands. But the kinds of units offered do cover the common ones that clients usually go for.
We like, too, that they offer free water analysis and quotations by appointment, as not a lot of companies offer these.
From what we’ve heard, their staff members are professional – from phone reps to the technicians themselves.
Their rates are relatively more expensive, but we think they’re worth it if you’re not really on a tight budget.

Pros
- Licensed, bonded, and insured
- Unit components are NSF/ANSI-tested and -certified
- Offers financing options and flexible payment terms
- Offers lifetime warranties that are fully-transferable
Cons
- Few reports of technicians showing up late to appointments
- Could work on having a speedier response rate
Complete Water Systems LLC is another family-owned and -operated company that services residents and business owners across the valley.
They’re licensed, bonded, and insured, too. And, there are a few good things we like about them.
For starters, they’re very particular when it comes to choosing their suppliers. All their units are manufactured in Arizona and components are NSF/ANSI-tested and -certified.
Another is that they offer satisfaction and best price guarantees. Because they have a wide network of suppliers, they’re able to price their services and products relatively lower.
And, they have financing options with flexible payment terms. On top of that, they also offer free estimates, basic water tests, and more.
When it comes to their warranty terms, they provide lifetime warranties and it’s completely transferable. We find this helpful for clients who are moving houses or transferring ownership of the water softener.
Their technicians are also often said to be professional and respectful of clients. Although, we have heard of some instances when a few of them would show up late to appointments.
They could probably work on having a speedier response rate, too. Some clients have had to make several follow-up calls just to have their inquiries answered.
