What is the Mesa Arts Center known for?

The Mesa Arts Center is home to four state-of-the-art performance theaters that host acclaimed national touring acts annually. The center’s stages have welcomed Blue Man Group, Penn and Teller, and Kristin Chenoweth.
The center features five exhibition galleries that showcase the work of contemporary artists. Named “Best Art Museum” in 2020 by the Phoenix New Times, it has featured the works of renowned artists like Alex Grey, Allyson Grey, Ron English, and El Mac.
The Mesa Arts Center offers a variety of art classes and workshops in its 14 custom-designed studio spaces. These classes cover a range of disciplines, including acting, dance, ceramics, printmaking, metal sculpture, and glassblowing.
The Mesa Arts Center’s postmodern design features sharp angles, canted walls, sloping roofs, and glass walls that reflect the local vernacular in colors and materials.
It also serves as a hub for the local arts community, with several Mesa-based artists maintaining residencies at the center. They produce and perform acts throughout the year, including the annual performance of The Nutcracker by Ballet Etudes.

The Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM. Some performances and shows may only be available on weekends, but weekdays have a better chance of being crowded.
