Top 7 Employment Lawyers in Phoenix
How We Chose the Best Employment Lawyers in Phoenix
Credentials
It was only natural for us to check these lawyers’ years of experience and certifications.
Specialization
Employment law is a broad area of specialty; hence, we looked into their track records of practicing, representing, and winning such cases.
Payment Terms
Some lawyers offer contingency-based services, others offer flexibility in payments. We considered how helpful they were in easing the financial load for their clients.
Availability
Given that clients spend a lot of time with their lawyers, we wanted to take into account how reachable and easy they were to communicate with.

Pros
- Known to be tenacious, tactical, and client-focused
- Has glowing reviews and recommendations from previous clients
Cons
- Firm can be quite selective with their clients
- Could work on promptly returning calls and updating clients
HKM Employment Attorneys LLP is a wide-scale national employment law firm who has a broad area of practice.
When it comes to employment law, however, they’re masters of the field and have been consistently recognized by award-giving bodies in the industry.
Here at Phoenix, Atty. Shifa Alkhatib is the managing partner and the face of employment law. She has glowing reviews and recommendations from clients she previously worked for.
It seems that she is known to be extremely professional in the sense that she’s knowledgeable, responsive, and willing to go above and beyond for her clients.
She has a reputation for being a straight shooter and quick-witted. As soon as you tell her your issues, she’ll lay down all the facts and present strategies that would help win your case.
We gather from these that she’s a tactical negotiator and very client-focused. We love how genuine her intent is to help.
A downside we’ve heard about their firm is that they can be selective with their clients. This seems to be more of a concern among those who worked for private entities or independent contractors.
Also, we hope they work on returning calls promptly. Apparently, some of their clients had to keep making follow-up calls because the machine gets it more than an actual person.

Pros
- Has over 20 years of practice experience
- Works directly with individual and company clients alike
- Relatively affordable service fees
Cons
- Does not offer much flexibility in payment
- Reports of reception and phone attendants needing better customer service training
Atty. Troy Foster is the founder and lead attorney of The Foster Group. Having over 20 years of experience in law, human resources, and mediation, he has solidified a reputation for being a reliable lawyer across the valley.
We admire how hands-on he is not just with the business, but with his clients as well. He works directly with individuals and companies alike to mediate legal disputes.
What clients love about him is his clear communication style. He provides them with sound insight and advice, and he does so with a professional level of respect.
He also makes himself available to them at all times. Even during the weekends or when he’s out-of-office, he makes sure to get back to them as soon as he can.
What’s more is his service fees are reasonable and relatively affordable. We’ve heard that he doesn’t overcharge and his staff attend to helping clients settle payments.
We wish, though, that they’d be more flexible for those who are on really tight budgets while a case is ongoing.
And while he’s excellent at customer service, the same can’t be said for some of his staff members. We’ve heard some concerns regarding unhelpful reception and phone attendants.
We do hope they address these issues. Other than that, we think you’re in good hands with them.

Pros
- Premier full-service firm with a successful track record
- Aggressive and tenacious attitude in settling legal disputes
- Employed attorneys are civil litigators first and foremost
Cons
- Significantly more expensive service fees
- Phone service rep reported to be dismissive and unhelpful in some cases
Zoldan Law Group is a premier full-service firm that proudly boasts of a successful track record in all aspects of federal employment law.
The practice is owned by Atty. Michael Zoldan, who is as tenacious, laser-focused, and experienced as the team he employs.
All his attorneys are civil litigators first and foremost. This equipped them with the knowledge and an aggressive attitude in settling disputes as efficiently and effectively as possible.
While these may all seem intimidating, Atty. Zoldan is anything but. His clients appreciate how patient, thoughtful, and pleasant he is to work with.
What really stuck to us is how he treats clients as important, individual people and not simply cases to be handled. It seems that he has a wonderful personality and an equally wonderful attitude when it comes to business matters.
It’s probably for these reasons why most of his clients don’t mind paying a premium for his services. The consultation fee alone ranges from $350 to $400 and is non-refundable, even when you have an emergency.
For a premium practice, however, we’d expect premium customer service as well. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to always be that way, as some clients have pointed out.
Apparently, the phone receptionist can be quite dismissive and unprofessional. In some cases, people who inquired never got their calls returned.

Pros
- Has over 30 years of practice experience
- Has been named one of the Best Lawyers in America since 2013
- Offers free initial consultations
- Cost-effective representations
Cons
- Some reports of selectiveness when it comes to clients
- Slow to respond to phone calls and emails
Atty. Elliot S. Isaac has spent over 30 years representing clients in federal and state courts through his own law firm. They specialize in employment law disputes and all its encompassing areas.
As a testament to his service, he has been named as one of the Best Lawyers in America since 2013. We give him major props for that.
Even more impressive, however, is his reputation for being hands-on, sincere, and genuine to his clients. It seems that he gets to know and understand them on a personal level, so he can help them in the best ways that he can.
We also really appreciate that their firm offers a free initial consultation. We think it’s considerate on their part to let clients meet the lawyers before opening their pursestrings.
It’s also helpful that they try to make the case as cost-effective as possible. If they can settle agreements outside of the courtroom, they will do so to lessen one’s expenses.
However, we’ve also heard of instances when they’re picky with clients – especially with smaller institutions.
An area we also wish they’d work on is better client communication. Apparently, some clients don’t get their calls or emails returned for at least 3 days.
5. Atty. Tyler Allen – Tyler Allen Law Firm

Pros
- Firm has a combined experience of over 30 years
- Specializes in wrongful terminations
- Has a warm and confident demeanor that clients find reassuring
Cons
- Relatively more expensive service fees
- Does not offer much flexibility in payments
- Could work on a better communication system
The good law firm of Atty. Tyler Allen provides legal counsel for a broad range of practice areas. Even though they’ve only been around for 12 years, their expert team of legal professionals has a combined experience of over 30 years.
Employment Law is among their areas of expertise, particularly for clients who have been wrongfully-terminated.
Atty. Allen is well-loved by his clients because of his professional, punctual, and understanding nature. It appears that he’s attentive to details and confident in his skills – which, in turn, makes clients confident that he can handle their case.
He enlightens clients to make the most educated decision they can. His job is to strategize and represent them, but he does this with their full trust and consent.
We also heard that he keeps an open line of communication with them, especially for cases that drag on. He frequently checks in on them and makes sure that they’re updated on all the latest developments in their cases.
Admittedly, their services are relatively more expensive. Which is why we hope they’d be more flexible in the payment terms.
It also appears that some of their clients are given short notices when it comes to court appearances or settling fines. We hope they regroup and come up with a better communication system to help address this.
