The 5 Best Fitness Equipment Stores in Phoenix for Your Dream Home Gym

  • Product Quality and Brand Variety: We checked the selection of reputable home and commercial fitness brands across cardio and strength categories. Shops offering a diverse mix of reliable gear scored higher on our list.
  • In-Store Showroom and Testing: Buying heavy machinery requires a hands-on approach before making a final decision. We favored stores with physical showrooms that allow buyers to test equipment personally.
  • Delivery and Installation Services: Moving heavy workout gear into a home or commercial space presents a major challenge. We looked for businesses offering professional delivery and reliable equipment repair within the metro area.
  • Reputation and Customer Support: A great purchase experience extends far beyond the initial sale. We analyzed local customer ratings, staff expertise, warranty backing, and post-purchase support to ensure lasting satisfaction.
  • Pricing and Financing: Budget constraints play a huge role in outfitting any workout space. We assessed the range of price tiers, the availability of pre-owned inventory, and flexible local financing options.

Starting a new workout routine requires the right tools, but finding reliable gear takes time. Locating the best fitness equipment in Phoenix helps you build a perfect home gym or outfit a commercial facility.

Big-box stores often lack the specialized knowledge required to guide you. Local specialty shops provide better experience by offering expert advice, delivery, and setup services. They even let you test the machines so you know exactly what you buy.

We explored local showrooms, checked out used gear spots, and evaluated repair services to find the top options. Here are the best places to source your workout gear.

We appreciate that their staff genuinely understand the mechanics of every piece of gear instead of just pushing a sale.

On the other hand, their selection leans heavily toward premium price points, meaning you won’t find many budget-friendly options.

Plus, the parking lot on Shea Boulevard can get surprisingly crowded on weekends.

Pros

Great experience

We worked with Peter to select and purchase an elliptical early in 2026.  He helped us select equipment that met our needs and arrange delivery at a time that was convenient for us.  When we had an issue with our equipment, Peter initiated the service request with Impact Fitness Repair Services (under warranty).  The communication about our repair was fantastic and the issue was resolved quickly.  It was a great experience all around!!

I bought a Matrix R30 recumbent bike from Johnson Fitness.  Adrian was the salesperson and I told him what I wanted.  He was very informative and no.pressure.  I love the recumbent bike and recommend going to johnson Fitness, for your exercise equipment needs.

Play It Again Sports on Greenway Road excels at buying and selling gently used fitness equipment. They keep their floors stocked with budget-friendly free weights, stationary bikes, and dumbbells.

You can frequently spot reliable brands like Bowflex and Schwinn mixed in with newer items.

In fact, our family friend recently grabbed a nearly new power rack here for a fraction of retail. He also mentioned that it was a fantastic place to stretch your budget.

The main downside is that their inventory remains completely unpredictable. You might find exactly what you need today, or you might leave empty-handed.

Moreover, their store layout also feels a bit cramped during busy afternoon hours.

Pros

  • Budget-friendly prices
  • Buys used gear
  • Good brand variety
  • Convenient location

Cons

  • Unpredictable inventory
  • Cramped store layout

We visited their showroom last year, and the staff patiently helped us test four different ellipticals.

The main catch is the parking situation: you have to park behind the store, which feels slightly awkward to navigate off a busy street.

Service goes well above and beyond,

I’ve been shopping here for at least 3 to 4 years. The service goes well above and beyond, and can’t beat the prices. Bob is always a joy to deal with, always understanding of my needs for the modifications of my home gym. Strongly suggest anyone looking to start, or expand a home gym to come here.

Couldn’t be happier

I was shopping around for a treadmill and some free weight equipment for my home gym and Fitness 4 Home was by far the best experience. Bob really took the time to understand the dimensions of the room I had in mind, as well as, my fitness goals. We were able to narrow down exactly what I needed and I couldn’t be happier. Thanks again Bob, the great customer service was a breath of fresh air!!

Logan and Ryan were courteous, friendly, prompt and did a great job building our exercise equipment. They cleaned up all the trash and boxes and even dusted off the new equipment after they built it. I highly  recommend their services

Professional, polite

The team at Ace Fitness was very professional and polite.  They came at the start of our window which is a big surprise, but there they were.

I would recommend them to anyone getting fitness equipment.
