While we’ve heard that their technicians are friendly and helpful, it appears that same cannot be said for some of their phone service reps.

Apparently, some customers need to make multiple calls to get a hold of them. It also seems that they are often slow to respond to email inquiries, sometimes taking three days just to provide an update.

Arizona Lock & Safe is a family-run business that’s also known to be a one-stop shop for their customers.

This is because they have a wide scope of security system equipment available, including access-controlled doors, various alarm systems, and CCTV systems.

When it comes to capabilities, rest assured as they’re Underwriters Laboratory (UL)-certified providers and have Arizona contractors’ licenses. They also only use UL-approved equipment on all their installations.

We also like that they have competitive prices and are amenable to work with any budget. On top of that, they offer flexibility in payment options.

This is always a major green flag in our book because it shows that they genuinely care about their customers by helping ease the financial load.

It seems, though, that not all of their equipment, particularly the cameras, are up-to-date on the latest industry standards. This may be why they’re able to offer more affordable rates.

It’s not entirely negative, as some customers are okay with basic tech as long as they’re reliable.

What’s more is they don’t lock anyone into proprietary equipment or extended contracts like most companies do. If you’re not happy with their monitoring service, you’re allowed to cancel anytime.

From what we’ve heard, their technicians are professional and easy to work with, show up on time, and are transparent about the entire process. Although, scheduling can entail a bit of wait, as they’re fairly small-staffed. 

ADT Security Services is a well-known security service provider, having been recognized in Forbes Home Best Home Security Companies and voted Newsweek’s Most Trusted Home Security Brand in the United States.

What we like about them is their range of services and products. They’re able to cater to customers’ personal needs up to the biggest businesses in their service area.

They also claim to have the longest guarantee of any national provider, offering a 6-month money-back guarantee. Certain restrictions apply, of course.

However, we’ve heard that some of their tech and hardware support takes a while. Some issues get resolved in weeks; which we think is slow, considering the nature of their business.

When it comes to home security, their system is inclusive of an ADT Command Panel, door and window alarms, security key fob, motion sensors, yard signs and window decals, as well as 24/7 alarm monitoring. 

Apparently, their alarms reach 911 centers up to 8x faster versus traditional voice handling speeds. Although, we found that this is only for participating 911 centers connected to their SMART Monitoring.

Since they’re open 24/7, they guarantee quick responses and in most cases, within just a few rings. No bots here, real agents will answer your calls.

Their prices play on the expensive side, but if you have the budget, we still think they’re a solid choice.

When it comes to home security, Black Hat Security knows what’s up. They focus their time, knowledge, and effort specifically for homes, so you know that they’re experts in this area.

They’re also locally-owned and -operated, taking pride in the fact that their team evokes a strong sense of community among their patrons.

They have three custom packages to choose from – The Black Hat, Secure System, and Energy System.

The Black Hat is their most comprehensive one. It includes a wireless touch screen panel, 3 door sensors, motion detector, real time monitoring, a smart thermostat, automated keyless deadbolt, and HD indoor camera.

While not exactly unique, they do promise top-tier technology as they have partnered with the best suppliers and technicians. 

They also provide free doorbell cameras in every package, as they found that the front door is still the most common entry point for break-ins. We think this is incredibly nice of them.

When it comes to subscriptions, they offer a shorter commitment of 3-years for new customers as opposed to the typical 5-year contract in most similar companies.

Customer service, however, seems like an area of improvement for them. It seems that they take a while to get back to customer concerns and emails.
