The clinic is specifically designed with these children in mind. The sensory room is equipped with soft lighting and tactile toys to help your kids feel safe before their appointment.

In our case, Dr. David was more than willing to work around our cousin’s talkative nature and short attention span. 

Even better, Dr. David’s evening appointments never feel rushed too. Even if we were the only customers left, he still took the time to initiate a friendly conversation.

When it comes to procedure, we appreciate this doctor and his staff for taking short breaks from time to time, especially during longer procedures. However, just take note that appointments tend to run longer than usual.

Meanwhile, you can expect all their resident doctors to teach the young ones about the importance of practicing good oral hygiene.

He even took the time to explain the exam findings and treatment plan in detail, which made us feel comfortable. You can also expect him to walk you through all options.

Dr. William is also very gentle with kids. We love how he never rushes appointments and won’t even start any procedure until he’s sure your child feels completely comfortable.

It also helps that their receptionist and assistants are patient and friendly, helping the little ones feel comfortable before they even sit in the dentist’s chair.

Additionally, we had several follow-up questions after the treatment, and their staff was ready to answer all of them. Shoutout to Raquel, one of the staff members, who even responded on a weekend.

However, we feel that they need to pay a little more attention to cleanliness. The common areas, such as the play area and lounge, were a bit dusty. Be sure to check them before leaving your kids there.

At first glance, Desert Ridge Pediatric Dentistry doesn’t look like a dental clinic at all. As soon as you walk in, their bright and futuristic touches are there to take the scare out of a dental visit for kids.

One of the coolest features is the space tunnel entrance. We love how they announce the kids’ names on a digital screen.

It’s worth noting, however, that they’re not a good option if your kid gets overstimulated easily.

And for the parents out there, there’s a designated waiting area for you too. There’s even a comfortable lounge with Wi-Fi connection and coffee.

Meanwhile, you’ll love how Dr. Austin McHenry makes the visit even more fun. We love how he throws in a few jokes from time to time just to lighten their mood.

During treatment, your children will also be surrounded by large-screen monitors above the dental chairs. There are also interactive elements that are perfect for keeping the younger patients engaged.

He obtained his certification in oral conscious sedation, which means he’s trained to safely administer this procedure to children. You’ll also appreciate that the clinic can accommodate emergency dental calls, provided the issue occurs during weekday hours.

We appreciate how the facility seems to be family-centered. It’s complete with comfortable seats and just the right amount of playful colors and touches.

In line with this, if you have kids 9 years or younger, you’ll love that there’s a kiddie corner with various toys to play with.

And here’s the fun part: after the dental appointment, each kid will get a coin for a surprise prize from the machine. 

Just a heads up, though, that there were a few reports about appointments not being properly added to the schedule.
