If you’re looking for a life coach who won’t make you feel that goal-setting is intimidating, then John Patterson of Life of John may be the one for you.
His space didn’t feel like a typical office when we first walked into it. Our favorite part was the little lounge area with motivational quotes on the wall.
When we first spoke to him, we loved how he kept our conversations casual. It even felt like we were catching up with a close friend.
If you’re the type who finds it difficult to warm up with an acquaintance, then you’ll be surprised by how John establishes rapport with his clients.
He also has his way of knowing if you’re being overwhelmed during the conversation. That’s why we loved it when he helped us organize our thoughts so we could explain them better.
When it comes to career opportunities, John also loves getting your resumes up and running, ensuring that the outline highlights your skills and experiences (not the templated ones!).
However, at times, he would jump into big-picture discussions. It can be a bit overwhelming for people who opt for step-by-step guidance.
Helps you with various transitions in life
“I was referred to John after being laid off from work for several months, and I cannot recommend his life coaching services enough. John is the epitome of professionalism, respect, and compassion. His expertise in career coaching was evident as he provided invaluable ideas, suggestions, and unwavering support during a pivotal time in my life. He helped me navigate not just the job search process but also the broader life changes that come with such transitions. If you’re looking for a coach who truly cares and delivers meaningful guidance, John is the one to call.”

Provides knowledge and inspiration
“I reached out to John when I was feeling burnt out from my corporate career and feeling unsure about the future. John is a great guy and he helped me find a new career path (actually in life and career coaching ironically). I’m now feeling incredibly energized and John has been an open book with me on what led him to be successful in his own practice. I appreciate the knowledge and inspiration I’ve received from John.”

We loved working with Ingrid Essawova-Frisby of Simply True because of how gentle she was. In fact, she sounds like a sweet mother or aunt who’s ready to bring clarity to you without making it sound like a lecture.
Her expertise leans on discussions about guilt and betrayal. A lot of her clients also go to her whenever they need guidance on pain and loss.
Aside from private sessions, she also offers group sessions for those who are comfortable opening up with small groups.
For those who love having intuitive readings, Ingrid seamlessly includes them in her coaching. We love how her insights blend practical guidance with deeper intuitive awareness, making her sessions more personalized.
We noticed, though, that some sessions could be heavy on journaling, which could feel a little slow at first.
On a lighter note, you can expect her to provide you with mindful exercises, perfect if you’re managing stress. For us, it’s a great way to stay grounded as you discover yourself and move towards your bigger goals.
Doesn’t rush appointments
“When I heard Ingrid speak for the first time, I instantly knew I wanted to work with her and lead like her. Her passion and joy for life as a spiritual recovery coach and intuitive is inspiring. She was very generous with her time & wisdom during our 1 on 1 sessions. I felt ignited and invigorated to expand in my lifes work. In fact, she’s been trained as a marriage and family therapist for over 15 years, which explains why we’ve seen several couples in their waiting lounge. Many of them had tried conventional psychotherapy approaches that didn’t really work before finding her.
She also specializes in dealing with ADHD, anxiety, and grief. We love how she provides practical strategies but still highlights compassionate support at all times.
Michelle also breaks down big goals into actionable steps, which works best if you like structure and momentum. However, her sessions could feel fast-paced, which is quite overwhelming if you prefer to process things slowly.
Still, we love how she can even pinpoint root issues so you can move forward confidently.
Another thing we love about her is that she personally calls her clients after a session. We love that it shows her focus on follow-through.

Meanwhile, couples can also work with her, especially if they need to improve their communication and strengthen their relationships.
What we love about her is that she uses her unique exercises to get to know you better. For instance, one activity had us reflecting on daily habits. It immediately highlighted my patterns and priorities, which really surprised us.
Aside from coaching, you can also take advantage of their individual retreats scheduled throughout the year. We also suggest reading her book, The Maxx Method, if you need more guidance on how you can love yourself even more.
While Christy offers virtual coaching sessions, she’s only available on weekdays, so plan your sessions accordingly.
Knowledgeable in different techniques for therapy
“I’ve had five sessions with Christy and believe that she is a very experienced and gifted practitioner with a sense or great sensitivity for what needs to be looked at. In our first session, i revisited my inner child – which i’d done several times before, but this time feelings and tears came up and a connection to a part within myself that i hadn’t been able to establish beforehand. In later sessions, we did the EMDR technique, during which a lot of images and issues came up. It is an ongoing process, and Christy is giving me tools to apply also outside of the sessions. I’m feeling very safe, very seen and respected with her. And she is worth every minute of her time, truly. I can highly recommend working with Christy.”

“Christy Maxey has been a gift from God for our family. It doesn’t matter what the issue is–she is able to get to the heart of the matter very quickly. I always walk away from our sessions feeling lighter and I also feel validated. She pushes you to see an issue from all sides but is still gentle and nurturing. I would absolutely recommend her services to anyone regardless of whether you have trauma or not because she will help you become a more confident person. Thank you Christy for everything you do and giving so much to your clients.”

They began working with Goddess Nadine as a life coach and found the experience to be supportive and encouraging. From the start, the conversations felt open and respectful, with space to speak honestly and without pressure. She listened carefully and allowed them to share their thoughts freely, which helped establish a comfortable and trusting tone for the sessions.
Over time, the discussions helped them reflect more clearly on their goals and the challenges they were facing. This approach made them feel actively involved in the process and more aware of their own choices. Her guidance was calm and steady, offering perspective without being overwhelming.

If you’re dealing with trauma or even struggling with co-dependence, we highly suggest connecting with Kenny Weiss. However, his coaching can be quite intense, so be ready to commit time and energy during his sessions.
We actually first discovered Kenny through his Heal the Hurt podcast. After listening to the first episode, we found ourselves checking the music streaming platform to binge-listen to all the latest episodes.
Listening to his podcast eventually led us to his book, which really helped in changing the way we thought about healing.
And after several weeks, we eventually decided to book a one-on-one session with Kenny. We love how structured his approach was, but it still bounces off that compassionate energy.
We loved how Kenny allowed us to speak freely in his space without rushing us to get to the next point. And by listening attentively, he was also able to ask us thought-provoking questions, which were very helpful during the process.
His support also went beyond the 1-on-1s, which we love.
Very engaging
“What a shining Star!! Flamboyant, engaging, insightful and incredibly spot on about what he’s teaching. My favourite life teacher thus far!
Kennys insights and methods are not simply ideals they are pain breaking life restoring truths and I do believe.this to my core. It hurts to grow that’s how I know it’s truth.
If it wasn’t I would block my ears and just walk away. Instead I remain listening to Kenny as he blows my mind and break my heart simultaneously. Who cares like that?!.
His wisdom heals but his beautiful heart steals the show. Legend.”
– Spice, Google Review
Knowledgeable in different areas of psychology
“Kenny guides one into facing the hardest elements that have been avoided for far too long. Healing work isn’t easy, Kenny is there to help us help ourselves. He is educated in many different areas of psychology and he teaches how to apply the right lessons to our lives, in steps. It’s a process, but it’s well worth it. Kenny is the only one that was able to teach me that I can change my life, by doing the work and facing the pain. Thank you Kenny.”
