These 5 best spas in Phoenix gave us the break we didn’t know we needed

  • Treatment quality: We verified whether the spas consistently provide high-quality and relaxing massages and facials.
  • Ambiance: We assessed whether the overall environment, including lighting, scent, and music, promotes relaxation to clients.
  • Extra amenities: We have included spas that offer additional amenities beyond body treatments. These include pools, tubs, saunas, and steam rooms.
  • Cleanliness: We checked if the treatment rooms and other facilities are well-kept. We also checked if the robes and towels are clean and fresh.

When was the last time you took a real break? And by break, we mean: no emails, no errands, just you and a therapist who works on your frozen shoulders. Yeah, I couldn’t remember either.

Fortunately, we have some of the best spas in Phoenix to remind us what calm actually feels like.

So go ahead, continue reading this blog, and maybe start cancelling your other plans while you’re at it. Because by the time you reach the end of this list, trust me, your calendar’s about to have one important appointment: self-care day.

If you’re looking for a spa that’s open daily, even on holidays, then Alvadora Spa should be at the top of your list. We love that they can accommodate same-day appointments during special days, which makes them a great option for last-minute me-time plans.

Just a heads up, though, that you can’t request a specific therapist. But don’t worry, all therapists here are very knowledgeable about their services, so you’ll get the attention (and the right amount of pressure) that you need.

We usually skip the steam sauna at other spas because it can sometimes smell musty, but we loved how Alvadora Spa kept theirs clean and fresh.

They also have an outdoor pool, which you can use before getting a massage. However, we find the temperature to be cooler than normal, which might surprise you on your first dip.

Additionally, if you’re planning to hang out in the waiting lounge, you may want to keep it short, as those lounge chairs aren’t the most comfortable.

Meanwhile, check-in is relatively easy. And if you’re bringing a car, there’s no need to worry about parking, as valet service is complimentary.

Pros

  • Accommodates same-day appointments
  • Open daily, even during holidays
  • Steam sauna doesn’t smell musty
  • Offers several amenities

Cons

  • Uncomfortable waiting lounge

Has a lovely pool

Beautiful and relaxing space

Revive Spa is located inside the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a calming lobby and water features that immediately set the tone for our stay.

You can reserve your full day here to take advantage of their various relaxing therapies, including facials and massages. You can even have your hair and nails done here after getting a full-body massage.

However, there are limited co-ed facilities. So if you’re looking for a spa that offers a sauna or steam room for couples, then you might have to skip them for now.

Additionally, some of their facilities could use a little maintenance. The tub even had broken tiles, so you really have to pay attention if you’re planning to use it.

Nonetheless, if you want to visit a spa that’s surrounded by nature, then this spa is the one for you. Here, you can enjoy swimming at their outdoor pool while being surrounded by a garden filled with trees and flowers.

There’s also a bistro where you can order food and drinks while you relax by the pool. And honestly, that’s got to be the best way to end a relaxing day here in Revive Spa.

Pros

  • Wide range of services
  • Located in a hotel
  • Has a bistro by the pool
  • Available for full-day reservation

Cons

  • Limited co-ed facilities
  • Maintenance of facilities could still be improved

Serves refreshing drinks

“Such a beautiful day!!! My massage was top notch. Entire experience was epic. Pool was clean, food delicious, drinks refreshing. Don’t forget to check out the garden. SO gorgeous. Also, the robes are lovely.”

Another spa that’s located in a hotel is The Lazy Bee Spa. This spa actually extends a 15% discount to hotel residents. If you’re staying here, don’t forget to mention it to the receptionist!

What we love about this spa is the use of natural products. This makes them an ideal choice for those with sensitive skin or those who prefer eco-friendly products on their body.

You’ll love that their therapists take time to listen to your skin concerns, ensuring they understand every single detail about it. This allows them to tailor the treatment to your specific skin type.

Additionally, we love that they will also share handy care tips that you can continue to do at home.

Aside from aromatherapy massages, cupping, and facial, this spa also offers lymphatic drainage services. If you plan to avail yourself of this, ensure you obtain clearance from your doctor.

Just note, however, that they’re only open until 6:00 PM. So if you love having spa treatments at the end of a tiring day, then they’re not a good fit for you.

Pros

  • Uses natural products
  • Mindful in addressing clients’ concerns
  • Provides aftercare tips
  • Offers lymphatic massage

Cons

  • Limited business hours
  • Premium rates

Reasonably priced

“This was such a nice and relaxing experience. I got a facial with acne treatment and my husband got a massage. Pricing was reasonable, staff was friendly and attentive, and the whole experience left us feeling renewed and refreshed.”

Ensures clients are comfortable

“Me not throwing a tantrum at the end of my 90 min facial because I didn’t want it to end 😭. Anna was amazing! She was so friendly, funny and made me feel so comfortable for my first facial ever. She walked me through every thing and made sure I was so comfortable. She took her time and didn’t make me feel rushed at all. It’s inside a hotel behind a yummy smelling restaurant. I absolutely love and recommend this cute little place.”

Phoenix Skin Spa specializes in a range of skin treatments, from basic facials to advanced skincare therapies. This spa is physician-directed, meaning treatments are performed under the supervision of a licensed medical professional.

Here, you can expect the doctor to discuss your current skin condition and work with you to create a customized plan that addresses it effectively.

In addition, tattoo removals are also offered here. What we love about it is that they include a treatment plan that ensures your tattoo fades completely.

However, it’s worth noting that some appointments take longer than expected. But don’t worry, the spa’s waiting area is kept clean and organized.

And, oh, they’re not open on weekends, so if that’s your only availability, you may need to look for another provider.

And while their lounge chairs aren’t exactly plush, they’re still comfortable enough for a brief wait.

As this is a skin spa, we appreciate that the robes and towels are clean and fresh, ensuring every treatment remains hygienic.

Pros

  • Ideal for clients that prefer skin spa treatments
  • Tattoo removal is also offered
  • Physician-directed treatments

Cons

  • Not open on weekends
  • Some appointments take longer than expected

We would always go to The Phoenician Spa whenever we needed a serious reset because, honestly, those Camelback mountain views just make the whole experience extra relaxing.

We find the spa gorgeous (and luxurious). It’s complete with its high ceilings, as well as gold and white accents. If you value style and environment over a quick massage, then you’re just in the right place.

Aside from basic massages and facial treatments, this spa also offers a range of additional services, including exfoliation sessions and wraps. We even love that they put hot towels on your feet, before you even start to feel cold.

You can also find a Drybar on-site. You can get your hair washed and blown out, which is perfect if you’re having a dinner date after getting pampered. Meanwhile, we also love that lockers are complete with slippers, towels, and even facial cream.

You can also take advantage of the rooftop pool. However, it’s not shaded, so it would be better to avoid swimming during the noon hour. And while you’re in this area, you can fuel up with good Mediterranean food and sweet treats.

Pros

  • Comfortable massage tables
  • Well-stocked pantry
  • Offers Drybar onsite
  • Great view of the mountains

Cons

  • Rooftop pool has no shade
  • Premium rates

Serves great food

“My wife and I came here for my birthday and had a spa treatment. It was fantastic. The spa is very clean and the service is on point. We then spent the afternoon at the pool and then in the sauna, steam room and hot tub. It was so relaxing. The food was very good as well. We had Fanny and Mary and they were stellar in the spa. We will definitely be back!”

Don Cornio, Google Review

Well-kept facilities

“I love Spa’s and this one did not disappoint! My massage was fantastic with Gary. He was probably one of the best massage therapists I have ever had. The staff throughout the spa were amazing. The Spa amenities were well kept. Pool, saunas…an amazing experience.”
