Top 5 Contractors for Insulation in Phoenix

Top 5 Contractors for Insulation in Phoenix

How we picked

Credibility

The company must be licensed, indicating that they comply with code and they’re accountable for their work. We also considered how long they have been in business to ensure they’re up to snuff on the trade.

Efficiency

We assessed how quickly they complete the service at the best quality and cost. This includes timely correspondence and an organized system of running things.

Workmanship

They should be proficient in handling machinery and have the skills necessary in producing consistent and sound installation.

Range of Services

Variety is key since insulation comes in different kinds and uses. We chose companies that offer different types of insulation and are equipped for any job.

Cost

The contractor should provide formal quotes detailing the costs. While a warranty is important, we also asked customers how well the company honors the terms when called for follow-up or emergency repairs.

Pros

  • Trusted contractor with 14 years in business
  • Offers up to $600 rebate on insulation
  • Comprehensive line of services including HVAC systems
  • Workmanship is guaranteed
  • Customer-oriented staff and services
  • Offers a variety of insulation options

Cons

  • Higher rates compared to other companies
  • Only offers quotes over the phone

Ideal Air Conditioning and Insulation fell on our radar owing to their full scope of services dedicated to the home’s energy efficiency and air quality. If you’re looking to lower your electric bill while increasing comfort in your home, they’ve got you covered.

They have everything from HVAC systems – like air conditioning, heating (for the mild winters), and ducting systems – to thermal insulation. Home automation for controlling these systems is also available, which is a great deal of convenience.

We’re not just talking about installation. They also offer repairs, maintenance, removal, and practically all the essentials.

In particular, we were impressed to learn that they cover all parts of the home possible in terms of insulation. Walls, crawl spaces, attics, you name it, they’ve got it.

Insulation also comes in a variety of options depending on use like blown-in cellulose, fiberglass, radiant barriers, and dense pack insulation among others. Some customers wouldn’t think of looking any further based on what we’ve seen.

Moreover, their service crew runs like clockwork, making sure to arrive on the dot and keep the work areas clean and protected. They’re also a pleasure to have around, apparently, keeping the homeowners informed with every step.

Still, quality comes with a price, and they could charge a little more than their counterparts. It’s no surprise considering what you’re getting in return if you ask us.

They also don’t come personally for home estimates. Ballpark prices could come as a surprise, especially when they’re typically higher than quotes from other companies.

Pros

  • Offers a full range of insulation products
  • Quick turnaround times and prompt responses
  • Products come with a lifetime warranty
  • Fully licensed, bonded, and insured
  • Accommodating and informative staff

Cons

  • Relatively new company
  • Has a record of messy work areas

Thermo Shield, LLC is a fully licensed, bonded, and insured home energy savings company that caught our attention. Seven years after their establishment, their business already saw a boom in just a short amount of time.

We’ve read the glowing reviews and had to try it out ourselves. According to some customers, the company exceeds expectations and emphasizes excellent customer service, which is promising.

This is apparent in the high-quality finished products we’ve seen so far, some of which are up on their online gallery. For a relatively young company, they have a diverse range of solutions that can suit different purposes.

Among these are spray foam, cellulose, fiberglass, radiant barrier, and rigid insulation. They also offer home energy audits, duct and attic sealing, removal, and maintenance, which is everything.

When it comes to the work itself, their technicians take the time to guide customers into the selection process. We heard they’re also prompt in responding to inquiries and are consistently on time for service calls.

Speaking of appointments, they’re more than inclined to work with your schedule and still finish in record time. We only wish they were better at picking up after the job since some have reported them leaving a mess around the work area.

On another note, the prices are some of the most reasonable ones we’ve seen so far, which takes the cake. A couple of customers attest to this, particularly those who went shopping for other companies first before landing on theirs.

Pros

  • Can insulate from the attic to the basement
  • 25+ years in business
  • Offers payment plans
  • Uses high-quality and eco-friendly products
  • Performs home efficiency services like home audits and solar products
  • Rated A+ and BBB accredited

Cons

  • May go above the initial estimate
  • Few reports of delayed appointments
  • Has a record of unreturned phone calls

Family-owned and -operated Barrier Insulation & Energy has served locals all over the valley for over 20 years. They’re one of the longest-standing contractors of their kind and don’t seem to be going anywhere, to say the least.

Being around that long, we’re confident in the quality of their work and services.

They did not disappoint and are a fully-equipped to serve both residential and commercial projects. All technicians are also certified and have years of work behind them.

This is apparent in the shining reviews of their workmanship, going above and beyond expected. Like their clients, we also appreciate the minor repairs on some ductwork here and there, even if it’s not part of the job.

Their products include spray foam, blown-in fiberglass, rolled batts, and the whole nine. These come in an impressive line-up of brands like Insulsafe, CertainTeed, and some eco-friendly products, which is promising.

One more thing, they’re also well-versed when it comes to maintaining a healthy attic. Aside from proper insulation, they also install ventilators to keep the moisture out and keep things cool up there.

We know it’s not a common thing around here, but they also insulate basements if your home is one of the few exceptions.

While they offer financing plans, we were bummed to hear about customers getting billed for more compared to the original estimate. Some have even reported never getting a call back for an estimate on the onset.

There were also a few who experienced delays in their appointments. Fortunately, this doesn’t happen often.

Pros

  • 40+ years of industry experience
  • Extensive inventory of insulation products
  • Willing to work with small to large scale projects
  • Trusted by many, including other trade professionals
  • Affordable rates

Cons

  • Lack of personal touch, particularly with customer service
  • Stringent return policy
  • Canned responses

True to its name, King Insulation has been around for almost 50 years. This makes them the longest-running enterprise of its kind in the Phoenix.

Their pool of clients is impressive on its own, consisting of other contractors, architects, business owners, and homeowners to name a few.

With this, along with decades of business behind them, they have successfully established a robust network with other field professionals. In short, the company is as reputable and reliable as it gets.

They also run a tight ship in terms of managing projects and quality assurance on the final products, which we’re fans of. What’s more, is that they have an extensive line of insulation, the most we’ve seen out of this list.

Besides residential and commercial establishments, they’re a step ahead and have completed industrial projects here and there. No matter the size, they’re apparently up for the job.

While they carry the traditional blown-in, fiberglass, and rolled batts, they also carry products like Acousticblok, spray-on barriers, and fire barriers. If you’re looking for something specific on the market, chances are you’ll find it here.

Our only gripe is that their services could use a personal touch, considering the short and cold responses from their phone rep. Others have encountered canned responses that don’t exactly address customer concerts, which is unhelpful.

Still, their prices are also surprisingly lower compared to others with just a fraction of the usual costs. Considering that they don’t skimp on quality and pay their installers by the hour, we’re thrilled.

Pros

  • Offers energy audits and home efficiency services
  • 100% satisfaction guaranteed
  • Can travel to farther areas like Tuscon
  • BBB rated A+ and accredited
  • SRP rebates apply to attic insulation

Cons

  • Fairly young company
  • Only offers blown-in fiberglass insulation only
  • Delayed responses and some unreturned calls

AZ Insulation & Energy Solutions, LLC is a friendly neighborhood insulation company that had its start in early 2017. They’re kind of the underdog in this list if you will, but they’re here for all the good reasons.

For one, they’ve grown a loyal following despite being fairly new in the trade, if we’re counting years. We won’t fail to mention that they’re fully licensed, bonded, and insured, plus they’re rated A+ and accredited by the BBB.

Although not as comprehensive as other companies, they offer home efficiency services including solar panels, mini-split systems, and insulation.

That being said, they only service blown-in type of insulation for both attics and walls. If you’re looking for more than that, we suggest looking elsewhere at this point.

Another thing we like is that they use CertainTeed, a high-quality and American-made line of insulation products. These come with an SRP rebate while labor is backed with a 100% satisfaction guarantee, which is great.

While they’re more appropriate for smaller-scale projects, they seem to do fantastic work based on what previous clients said. Their portfolio is mapped out on their website and have even gone as far as Tucson.

On the other hand, we hear some customers never got past the initial call for estimates, while some never heard back at all. We wished they had a better system of communication in place considering it’s the first port of call.
