Reviewed The Top 5 IVF Clinics in Phoenix

Reviewed: The Top 5 IVF Clinics in Phoenix

How We Picked

Success Rates

Aside from their websites, we surveyed and compared their outcome statistics across reputable organizations such as SART and CDC. We focused on the total number of pregnancies and live births resulting from IVF.

Accreditation

We ensured that the clinic is recognized for its commitment to providing quality care and strong ethics. The clinicians should also be licensed and certified in relevant practices.

Expertise

Specialists should be ready to answer questions accurately and truthfully according to the patient’s best interests. Of course, they must have the skill to perform procedures and act on good judgment.

Capacity

We assessed the range of treatment options that supplement an IVF cycle such as infertility evaluations, genetic screening, and donor programs. These should be performed using the appropriate and latest equipment/facilities.

Forms of Payment

IVF treatments aren’t usually covered by insurance, hence, we checked their payment plans and financing options. An IVF refund program is a huge plus.

    Pros

    • Combined experience of over 100 years for key specialists
    • Offers a refund program on unused cycles

    Cons

Millie Behera, MD is the medical director and founder of Bloom Reproductive Institute, PLLC. She’s also board certified in OB/GYN, Reproductive Endocrinology, and Fertility all in one.

When it comes to the IVF experience, their patients seem to be in the best care. Their medical staff undergoes an extensive hiring process to ensure that they are seasoned experts and committed to quality service.

Among them is Dr. Behr, a world-renowned scientist and a trailblazer in human reproduction research and advancement. One of his innovations is a culture medium for embryo growth that has improved implantation and pregnancy rates across the globe.

Of course, their staff is not exempt from providing pleasant and friendly service. We think it’s endearing that the families under their care refer to their offspring as “bloom babies.”

Speaking of babies, they have a success rate of 55.6% and a total of 143 live births. Considering these were recorded only four years after their inception, we think these numbers flourished at a fast rate.

No matter what your financial background is, it seems fertility treatment is attainable through their financial options. They also offer grants to existing and qualified patients once every quarter, which we find charitable.

However, their front office could use some improvement because we’ve heard some patients complain about not them taking too long to return calls, sometimes not at all. This could be frustrating, especially for ongoing patients.

Despite this, their staff is among the most experienced in the field we’ve seen in the valley. We think they’re blessed with the green thumb – but with babies – with their comprehensive medical background and training.

    Pros

    • Board-certified in OB/GYN, Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility
    • Contracted with most major insurance plans
    • Accommodates patients of different age groups and infertility problems
    • Easy to set appointments and follow-ups

    Cons

    • Some complaints on long waiting times
    • Principal doctor explains too briefly and is hard to understand
    • Appointments seems rushed for some

The Fertility Treatment Center was established by Dr. H. Randall Craig in 1990. Boasting with a team of board-certified medical experts, the clinic prides itself in its high success rate in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility.

Among their groundbreaking achievements are the first pregnancies in Arizona out of a frozen egg IVF program and pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD).

Thereafter, the practice born fruit in the succeeding years with a 52.5% IVF success rate. Around 80% of their patients have successfully conceived from participating in their programs, with an outcome of 126 live births as of 2019.

Despite the fairly good turnout, their patients’ well-being still takes precedence over statistics. We love that their doors are open to anyone regardless of age, follicle count, or any other factor that could seemingly skew the numbers.

It has been proven that success rates increase with younger age, but the clinic is set out to help anyone over the age of 35 by turning the chances in their favor. In other words, their patients are treated like family as opposed to being treated like numbers.

Doctors aren’t always easy to understand, which is unfortunately the case with Dr. Craig. We heard he tends to be brief and doesn’t explain medical info that is comprehensible to the average person.

We also wish he’d spend more time with his patients. Nevertheless, we appreciate how he and his team make the effort to optimize all the treatment options in terms of affordability and effectiveness.

For instance, if it seems that pregnancy can be achieved through low-tech infertility treatment, then they won’t spring for the high-tech option just to earn bigger bucks. Like their patients, this kind of work ethic increases our confidence in their practice.

    • Has a record of 427 live births according to CDC
    • Accepting of all patients, including the LGBTQ+ community

    Cons

    • Not a member of the SART
    • No donor embryo programs

The New Direction Fertility Centers consist of highly-devoted medical professionals who specialize in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. They’re particularly known for their personalized fertility treatments and impressive statistics.

Mark Amols, MD founded the clinic and personally handpicked his colleagues. We like that each of them has a profile on their website describing what they’re like, their achievements, and their medical experience – all of which are impressive.

As high-caliber professionals with reputable backgrounds, we love that they’re grounded and personable in how they treat their patients.

Major props go out to Dr. Amols and Dr. Derman, who we hear are an excellent tandem and spend quality time with their patients.

Moreover, they don’t compromise the quality of the cycles entrusted to them even if it means working on a weekend and after hours.

It’s no wonder why their numbers are high, setting the record for the most live births we’ve seen across the state at whopping 427 deliveries.

According to them, this is attributed to having an optimal environment for growing embryos. They have state-of-the-art facilities which include a revolutionary air filtration system that makes their lab the perfect place to ensure embryo viability.

Unfortunately, they don’t have an embryo donor program for those who prefer this alternative or those who don’t want to discard excess embryos.

On the bright side, they’re up-front with the prices, inclusions, and procedures not included in the IVF treatment. This information is accessible through their website, which significantly helps in planning the budget ahead of your first visit.

Excellent bedside manners, reputable doctors, cutting-edge tech, and competitive pricing are the qualities that make them one of the best IVF clinics in Phoenix for us.

    Pros

    • Wide range of financing and payment options
    • Optimized IVF treatments in terms of embryo transfers and freezing
    • Highest success rate for IVF with egg freezing in National Egg Bank
    • 25 years of experience as a clinic

    Cons

    • Few reports on disorganized operations and billing
    • Some complaints of dismissive front office

The Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists is committed to achieving the ideal balance of outstanding service and personalized patient care in a cost-effective manner.

When it comes to providing quality service, the clinic has over 25 years of experience and a shining track record.

Behind this is a duo of licensed specialists who have faced their battles with infertility themselves – Dr. Moffit and Dr. Nelson. We think that their firsthand experiences give them a better understanding of reproductive issues.

Most of their IVF cycles involve the transfer of frozen embryos, which are proven to have a higher success rate compared to fresh ones. This is apparent in their success rate of 42% and the live birth rate of those under 35 years old at 65%.

On the other hand, they have over 10 options for financing and discounts that would correspond to varying financial capacities.

Because of their efforts to make IVF treatment affordable and accessible, they have been recognized as a center of excellence by a handful of insurance providers. Among these are UnitedHealthcare and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

One of their notable options is a comprehensive refund program that guarantees a live birth, otherwise, you’ll get a refund in full. Certain clinical criteria must be met to qualify for the program and should be paid upfront without insurance.

We hope they could extend the same service when it comes to the front office and billing staff. We’ve heard complaints about unresponsive staff over the phone and misquotes on billings, which could slow down the whole process.

All things considered, we think they’re accomplishing what they set out to do in terms of treatment and affordability. We only wish their front office were more welcoming.

    • State-of-the-art laboratory and filtration systems
    • 63.4% IVF success rate
    • 186 recorded live births by the CDC

    Cons

    • Closed on weekends
    • Don’t offer 24-hour medical care

Advanced Fertility Care stands on high-quality care, inclusivity, and transparency through published info and results. These foundations are carefully laid to reinforce their dedication to helping others build families.

What we love most about them is their patient-centric approach. A patient care manager is assigned to ensure open communication and a seamless process from start to finish.

With this service, you can expect to stay on top of things in terms of reminders, schedules, medications, and lab results among other things. We think their counterparts could learn a lot from them.

In the same respect, their care providers are the nicest bunch we’ve encountered so far. They’re known to patients for their warm and caring countenance but are also all Fellows of The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists or FACOGs.

Dr. Vladimir Troché, in particular, is one of the country’s highly-esteemed fertility experts with excellent bedside manners to boot. When it comes to patient care, they provide it with flying colors.

Incidentally, they’re also a trusted partner of the LGBTQ+ community and offer treatment options for lesbian, gay, and transgender couples and individuals. Everyone’s journey to parenthood is unique, and that’s something they recognize and value.

To take the icing on the cake, they are contracted with a wide range of insurance care providers and will even take the extra step of verifying eligibility.  However, their list may change prior notice, so make sure to call and confirm if yours is covered.

Ultimately, we think they stand above the rest and live up to their name with an all-around approach. Keep in mind that they’re not available 24/7 for medical coverage and are closed on weekends.
