5 Best Endodontists in Phoenix

4 Best Endodontists in Phoenix

How We Chose the Best Endodontists in Phoenix

Experience

Endodontics is a specialized branch of dentistry. This is why we looked into these endodontists’ years in practice and licenses or certifications they have.

Surgical Methods

We also considered their techniques and equipment they used. There are always new advancements in endodontic therapy, so we took into account how updated they are in these regards.

Availability

We wanted to look into their accessibility and availability, especially for emergency cases.

Patient Care

We considered not just the endodontists, but their staff members as well. Helpfulness, attentiveness, and responsiveness all fell into this criterion.

Pros

  • State-of-the-art facility with a spa-like ambience
  • Board-certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics
  • Uses advanced and modern equipment
  • Same-day emergency treatments available

Cons

  • Significantly more expensive rates
  • Some reports of few staff members needing better customer service training

When it comes to premium dental care, we think there’s a lot to like about Arcadia Endodontics.

Their state-of-the-art practice makes use of advanced endodontic treatments and the latest technological advancements in the field.

We’d also like to point out that their facility is top-notch – everything is clean, modern, and has a spa-like look to it. They even have massage chairs!

Their co-owner, Dr. Collin Clatanoff, has an impressive background as well. After graduating with the highest honors from Stevens Institute of Technology, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the prestigious USC School of Dentistry.

He’s board-certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics – a rare distinction in the field of endodontics.

What we like about him, though, is his warm and kind personality. His patients feel comfortable around him because he listens to them attentively and thoroughly explains the treatments to be done.

We’d also like to highlight that they use CBCT scans to diagnose and treat patients. And, they make use of GentleWave technology to enhance disinfection during root canal procedures.

In case you need urgent care, they welcome same-day emergency treatments.

Understandably, their rates are significantly more expensive. But for such high prices, we’d expect a higher standard for customer service.

It’s unfortunate that there have been reports of some of their staff members being rude or dismissive to patients. We do hope they look into this and address this right away.

Pros

  • Boutique family-owned and -operated practice
  • State-of-the-art equipment and advanced machines
  • Known to be an expert at pain management

Cons

  • Some reports of billing mishaps
  • Relatively more expensive rates

Four Peaks Endodontics is a boutique practice that’s family-owned and -operated. Their office may be small, but it’s equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and advanced machines.

Even though they’ve only been in business for a little over 4 years, Dr. Trond Hegle has more than a decade of endodontic experience.

He’s the owner and the sole endodontist in the practice. This means that patients are directly seen by him, from their initial consultation to post-op care.

Dr. Hegle is known to be an expert at pain management. Apparently, he’s excellent at making sure that patients are completely numb for the procedure and experience less-than-usual pain post-surgery.

He makes sure that patients are comfortable and well-informed of the process. Fun fact: we’ve even been told that he keeps them entertained with 80’s and 90’s hits during surgery.

More importantly, he displays a high level of expertise and professionalism all throughout.

Be wary, though, that there have been some complaints regarding their billing statements. Apparently, there are hidden fees and misunderstandings as to what can be claimed for insurance.

Their services are also relatively more expensive. But if you can look past these, we think you’d be in good hands with them.

Pros

  • Has been around since 1996
  • Board-certified endodontist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics
  • Utilizes both digital radiography and special operating microscopes

Cons

  • Small office and reception space
  • Longer waiting time for appointments – schedule gets booked up quickly

Valley Endodontics & Oral Surgery has been around since 1996. They have several locations around the valley, but their Phoenix one is top-rated.

For starters, their office is well-maintained and clinical, but not in an intimidating way. It’s sleek and modern; although, their reception area is a bit small for our liking as it gets cramped once patients start coming in.

It does help that the clinical staff are attentive to patient needs and concerns. It seems that everyone is friendly, cheerful, and kind.

Dr. Trent Lally is a welcoming fellow, too. He’s a board-certified endodontist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.

From what we’ve heard, he has a warm personality that helps ease the anxiety of patients. Root canals (and any dental work for that matter) are notorious for being painful, after all.

However, Dr. Lally apparently does an amazing and pain-free job for dental surgeries. We think it takes a certain level of skill to properly assess and make the experience good for patients.

We also like that they utilize both digital radiography and special operating microscopes. These just give better images of micro-details inside a patient’s tooth.

If you do decide to pay them a visit, make sure to call ahead as their schedule gets booked up pretty quickly.

Pros

  • Has been in practice since 2005
  • Received specialty training in Endodontics, particularly in root canal procedures
  • Offers flexibility in payment options

Cons

  • Relatively higher service fees
  • Not as helpful in filing for insurance claims

Canyon Ridge Endodontics is a prime group of American Association of Endodontists specialists members. One of its co-founders is Dr. Thomas Lammot, who has remained hands-on and in-practice since 2005.

Dr. Lammot has had a decorative career since he was a student. A highlight would be his specialty training in Endodontics from New York University’s College of Dentistry.

This two-year program focused exclusively on surgical procedures in Endodontics – particularly in root canals.

Suffice it to say, he’s a master of the said procedure and has patients coming from all over the valley just to see him.

What we like about him is that he’s known to have excellent bedside manners and a great sense of humor. He has a way of making patients feel at ease, even when describing a complex procedure.

Another thing we appreciate is how they’re transparent with the procedural costs. There are no hidden fees, and everything is presented upfront.

They also offer flexibility in payment. However, we’ve heard that they’re not as helpful with insurance claims as one would hope to be.

Their service fees are also more expensive compared to other similar clinics. Considering their expertise, however, we think it’s fair and reasonable.
