Where to Find the 5 Best Junkyards in Phoenix

Where to Find the 5 Best Junkyards in Phoenix

How We Chose the Best Junkyards in Phoenix

Selection

Most people come to junkyards in search of car parts, so we looked into the scale of their selection. Also, we considered those that offer great finds in rare auto and body parts as well.

Value for Money

We also considered how good the discounts are. People come for cheap finds, but this does not mean completely sacrificing the quality of what they want to purchase.

Accuracy of Online Info

Most junkyards display the items they have on their websites, so customers don’t waste their time coming to the yard for nothing. So, we looked into how accurate and efficient in updating they are.

Customer Service

We also wanted to take into account how helpful and friendly the staff members are. It’s always nice to be treated to good customer service, after all.

Pros

  • Large selection of auto parts for domestic and foreign makes
  • Organized and clean lot
  • Will pay within 24 hours to customers selling their cars
  • Updated website

Cons

  • Relatively smaller lot which is cramped and tight
  • Few cases of closing early without notice to the public

Pick A Part is one of the more popular junkyards in Phoenix, and for good reasons.

For one, they claim to have the largest inventory of used car parts and auto body parts across the valley. They have over a thousand vehicles of all makes and models available for customers.

We also think it’s helpful that they have parts for both foreign and domestic makes. These include BMW, Nissan, Volkswagen, and more, which are not always available in other junkyards.

Ironically, their lot isn’t as spacious as others. It’s a bit cramped and tight, but we do appreciate that everything is well-organized and clean.

If you’re looking to sell, they buy cars in any condition. Whether that means junk, wrecked, or older cards with no title, they’ll give you an offer and pay within 24 hours should you accept it.

From what we’ve heard, their employees are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. For the uninitiated, purchasing used parts may seem intimidating, but it’s not the case when you’re with staff members as personable as them.

Their website is even more helpful. It readily showcases available items and you can call them to reserve and pick up for convenience.

Pro tip: If you come to the yard early, they give even bigger discounts.

Take note, however, that they don’t always follow their posted business hours. Some customers said that they close early without prior notice.

2.  Pull-N-Save

Pros

  • Has over 6,500 vehicles in inventory
  • Upfront pricing on-site and displayed on website
  • 30-day warranty program available

Cons

  • A few unmarked and disorganized rows
  • Open lot, can get incredibly hot especially around summer

Pull-N-Save is another good place to scavenge for auto parts because they have over 6,500 cars in inventory.

Note that these aren’t all available in one branch, but we do like that their website has an inventory search feature that’ll show you where the part you need is.

Their yard in North Phoenix, however, is spacious and can be a bit overwhelming. But the upside is, you’re more likely to have a successful trip here considering that they have almost everything.

What’s more is they give great discounted rates. Pricing is easy to understand as well, as their website displays the rates, and there are no hidden charges on-site.

We also appreciate their warranty program. You can return a part within 30 days if it doesn’t work for you, which isn’t something most junkyards offer.

If you do visit, make sure to bring water with you as it’s an open lot exposed to the sun. You’ll also be walking around a ton, as some rows are not marked and others are just plain disorganized.

We’d also like to point out that they’re a self-service auto recycler. Don’t forget to bring your own tools and read the rules they have on their website prior to entry.

Pros

  • Focuses on quality control
  • Accredited by the Better Business Bureau
  • Indoor warehouse with thousands of dismantled parts
  • Can deliver or ship items to your preferred location
  • 6-month warranty program for most parts

Cons

  • Self-service is unavailable
  • Not all parts fall under the warranty

i-17 Auto Parts is a more upscale version of a junkyard. They prefer to be called a “high-level auto recycling facility,” but in essence, they do provide most of the same services.

What we love about them is their focus on quality control. Not only do they have a dedicated team for this, but they’re also accredited by the Better Business Bureau.

The thing with them, though, is they don’t let customers roam around their yard. Their indoor warehouse holds thousands of pre-dismantled parts available for purchase.

Some parts aren’t on the shelves, though, and have to be taken from cars they have on the lot. In cases like this, they’d need a day’s notice so they can have the part ready for you when you come to visit.

If you can’t make it to their location, they can also deliver or ship the item to you. In fact, they have a specialized crew trained to wrap and safely box every conceivable part.

We also think that they have one of the best warranty offers in the market. Should a part be defective or unfit for you, you can return them within 6 months.

This isn’t applicable to all parts, though, just most. Make sure to read the fine print and confirm which items fall under the warranty.

Pros

  • Has been in business since 2006
  • Extensive selection of auto parts
  • Secure safety systems in place
  • Sustainability efforts in repurposing parts and recycling oil

Cons

  • On the pricier side
  • Reports of misplaced cars
  • Inventory selection on the website isn’t as accurate

U Pull & Pay has been in the auto recycling business since 2006. They’re a self-service junkyard that has thousands of automobiles and parts in their inventory.

Self-service is great for customers who prefer to roll up their sleeves and take exactly what they need. And, U Pull & Pay has safety systems in place to avoid accidents.

If you plan on coming, remember to bring your own tools. Their yard is spacious and open, so come early if you’d rather not work under too much heat.

We’ve also heard that their yard isn’t as organized as one would hope. Some cars are in different rows and the inventory selection on the website isn’t always accurate.

We suggest calling them to confirm which parts are available so you don’t waste making the trip.

What we love about them are their efforts for sustainability. Apart from recycling and repurposing car parts, they heat up their facility from used oil out of vehicles from select locations around the country.

For a self-service type of yard, we find their rates to be on the pricier side. On the upside you’re almost guaranteed to find what you need as they do carry quite an extensive selection.

Pros

  • Works fast and efficiently
  • Known to give good deals on used cars
  • Takes any type of car, even ones with lost titles
  • Offers a towing service for convenience

Cons

  • Only purchases cars
  • Doesn’t sell auto parts

For those exclusively looking to sell used cars, Corner Stone Cash For Junk Cars is one of your best bets.

They’re one of the most reliable car buyers around because they work fast, efficiently, and they don’t try to underpay. In fact, they can get you an appraisal in as fast as 10 minutes.

Like we mentioned, they’re known to give great deals. Their customers love that they do honest business and won’t pay less just to make more of a profit out of you.

They basically take any car – whether it’s rusted, wrecked, or immovable. Even the ones that have lost titles are accepted in their yard.

You also don’t have to worry about transport, as they can tow the car for you. We find this so much more convenient on the customer’s end.

They’re a family-owned and -operated business. They’re also licensed and insured, so there are no sketchy dealings here.

From what we’ve heard, too, they maintain a spirit of community across the valley, having accumulated loyal customers over the years.

It seems that they offer excellent customer service. Apart from responding quickly, they’re also a friendly and cheery bunch that people appreciate a lot.

Our only complaint is that there are a lot of unworking tabs and pages on their website. We find that this could be annoying for those making initial research, so it’s probably best to just call them.
