How We Picked

Scope of Services

Considering how each job has unique requirements, we browsed through their past works for the welding processes they employ, and the equipment they use.

Credibility

We surveyed the welders for any relevant certifications and licenses to perform the trade, as well as years of experience. This is also a way to verify their knowledge of standards and codes.

Expertise

We evaluated their welding techniques and proficiency with machinery in producing smooth, consistent, and structurally sound joints. We also considered how well they work with different kinds of metal.

Project Management

The finished project relies heavily on optimizing time and costs. So, we looked at how efficient they are with turnaround times and staying firm within the budget.

Pros

  • Doesn’t juggle multiple jobs at a time
  • Licensed, bonded, and insured business
  • Available for online quotes and bookings

Cons

  • Limited assortment of equipment
  • One-man team that can only handle small to medium projects

Affordable Custom Welding, LLC was founded by owner-operator Ben Walker, a US Army Veteran with a penchant for metal fabrication. He offers a good range of services, from repairs to fabrication.

We’ve heard he’s a capital fellow as much as he is a skilled welder. He takes on an eager approach to each job and his clients apparently feel the value of his work.

His business is entirely mobile, which is an advantage as it can service remote areas by way of a 4×4 truck. Plus, you don’t need to worry about power because it’s equipped with a generator.

Admittedly, though, they’re limited to small-scale projects that include homes, commercial enterprises, and automobiles.

The upside is that they have a special focus on those mentioned. They’re also covered by a specialty dual license, which makes customers confident in their business from what we’ve witnessed.

Another thing we like is that they’re on point with the cost and the time it takes to complete the work. A client who previously hired them to do a job on his truck’s flatbed was pleased to get it back within the agreed time and expected estimate.

They’re also called affordable for a reason. According to their customers, their pricing is competitive compared to quotes from other businesses.

With all that being said, they’re an excellent choice for homeowners, small businesses, and motorists for quality and cost-effective welding services right on their doorstep.

Pros

  • Offers high-precision services with advanced machinery
  • Accommodates a wide range of industries
  • Same-day services
  • Quick and efficient processes

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • Some services are relatively more expensive

MetzFab Industries was established in 2011 and is considered a relatively young contender in the welding industry. The business was built from the ground up by Brandon Metzger, who was only 20 years old at that time.

If that’s not impressive enough, he has also acquired cutting-edge machinery for all sorts of welding services under his belt. Among these are the CNC machining, tube laser cutter, water jet cutter, and deburring machine.

As a result, clients appear to experience faster turnaround times and end up with highly precise and quality products.

Having the right equipment seems to cut down on time, as some jobs only take a few minutes to finish.

Being up-to-date and investing in the latest metal fabrication advancements certainly opened doors for this business. Aside from covering a wide scope of industries, they have also expanded to servicing clients across the country.

While they have a generous resource online for their services, we didn’t see much of their finished projects. It would help if they have those on display so that future customers could have a better grasp of their capabilities.

Keep in mind that their prices could cost a little more compared to other companies. We think it’s worth it in the long run, considering how many satisfied clients have gone through their doors.

Ultimately, they have a lot to offer in metal fabrication and welding technology. They’re your best bet for clean-cut and industry-standard service.

Pros

  • Almost 40 years of experience
  • Rated A+ by the BBB
  • Same-day services
  • On time and on budget

Cons

  • Nothing new to offer in terms of equipment and technique
  • Limited to small and medium scale projects

Ralph Campbell has the owner and operator of his own mobile welding business for 39 years.

It seems he’s in the industry for the long run and is allegedly a pro at everything made out of metal. He’s quite skillful with MIG welding in working with an assortment of projects such as trailers, cages, gates, and decorative panels.

What we like about him is his can-do attitude with every project he encounters, no matter how simple or complex. His clients feel the same value of service regardless of the extent of the work, from what we’ve heard.

Furthermore, he goes as far as state boundaries to deliver his metal fabrication and welding know-how to whoever needs it. Otherwise, his clients have the option to visit him on-site where he works with a small team of experts.

He’s also quite old-school when it comes to doing business and getting the word out about his services. He relies on handshake agreements, which is something to consider for those who are particular with binding contracts.

Despite this, it’s apparent that he’s doing something right because of how many clients are choosing his services. Many of them are even repeated customers, including another business that commissioned him to work on their office space.

We’ve heard he’s also conscientious and trustworthy with the way he runs things, which increases our confidence in including him on this list.

Pros

  • Proven track record
  • Specializes in off-road vehicles
  • 15+ years of experience
  • Open to small and larger-scale projects

Cons

  • Closed on Sundays
  • Nothing new to offer in terms of technique

Metal Line AZ is a family-owned and -operated business that has been serving the valley since 2004. They have employed certified technicians that specialize in custom metal fabrication using TIG and MIG welding methods.

One thing we like about them is that you can view a lot of their past projects on their website. This helps customers get a better sense of their expertise from the start.

We’ve seen a variety of their work in both residential and commercial establishments that range from something as small as furniture and signages to structural members and roof trusses.

They also seem to attract a lot of automotive projects like trailers, service vans, and a good amount of off-road vehicles.

The owner and foreman, Colt, seems to know his stuff because we’ve seen a lot of clients who were pleased with the results. The joins are always clean and structurally sound, and the dimensions are spot-on.

We’ve also heard that he’s a nice fellow and very responsive to inquiries, even taking on projects on such short notice. Some have become repeat customers, which is great.

If you’re on the lookout for quality workmanship at a reasonable price, it’s worth dropping them a line. They’re a solid choice, especially for those looking for vehicle repairs and fabrication.

Pros

  • AWS and INS certified
  • Large team of around 20 experts
  • Can handle small to large scale projects
  • 30 years in the industry

Cons

  • Closes a bit early
  • Closed on Sundays

Reiters Custom Welding Inc. offers custom metal fabrication services for a wide range of industries including construction and medical institutions.

They began 30 years ago as a family-owned and -operated business and have since received their certifications from the American Welders Society and ISNetworld.

What caught our attention is that they boast state-of-the-art equipment under a 5,000-square-foot warehouse, not to mention a team of certified and licensed experts.

Because of this, they’re capable of a variety of services like water jet cutting and computer-aided design or CAD. They’re also open to larger and more complex projects such as a building’s structural framework.

It seems no job is too big or too small because they offer mobile welding for smaller-scale work in homes and commercial establishments. Like their clients, we’re also fans of their work with signages and intricate welded gates.

There also have quick turnaround times. We’ve heard of walk-in customers who whose job orders were reportedly done in a matter of hours – and at a fair price.

In terms of shop hours, they open as early as 6 am and close up a little early, which we don’t see often. They’re also closed on Sundays.

At any rate, they’re an excellent choice regardless of the complexity of the project. Their industry-grade performance and solid reputation – and welding joints – further seal the deal for us.
