Doggy Daze is an urban, upscale, and full-service dog salon conveniently located at Phoenix midtown. They’ve been around for over 20 years and have since groomed thousands of furballs.

You’ll be happy to know that they’ve consistently been named the “Best Dog Grooming Salon” in Phoenix New Times. Their spirit of community was also honored with the City of Phoenix Pride.

What we like about them is that there’s hardly any wait. During regular business hours, you don’t need to make an appointment for non-haircut grooming services.

You only need to call ahead when your dog needs a full-service haircut and groom. 

We also think that their rates are fair. The royal treatment for smaller breeds starts at $30, while full-service grooming starts at $50 for toy dogs.

Their groomers are also known to be true-blue pet lovers themselves. It seems that their clients love how attentive and friendly they are to every pet brought to them.

An issue we’d like to point out, however, is that they’re currently transitioning under new management. Some clients have pointed out quirks they need to work out, particularly in customer service.

This apparently includes their alert system. We’ve heard of instances when a pet owner doesn’t immediately receive notice that their dogs are done and ready for pickup.

The adjustment period is temporary, though, and we still think they’re a great place to bring your pooches. 

A great option to bring any dog breed is Cookies N’ Clean. From what we’ve heard, their team of skilled groomers make the grooming experience as fun as their name.

What we really like about them is their focus on expertise. All their groomers receive training and have worked for over a decade in the pet grooming business.

Additionally, they don’t turn down any breed. We’re aware that some similar companies send away high-energy and anxious pets, but they’re incredibly adept at handling stressed dogs.

Not only does this prevent mistakes on their end, but it also adds a great sense of ease on the client’s part. 

Their stylists are competent not just in standard maintenance grooming, but in professional show grooming as well.

Admittedly, their services are significantly more expensive. A haircut and spa starts at $64.99, while a regular wash and spa starts at $49.99.

We’d like to point out that there have been issues with miscommunication. Some clients claim that certain services were mentioned to be included in the pricing, but were surprised to find them on the bill as add-ons.

We strongly advise that you clarify this with them upon showing up. Overall, though, we think your fur babies are in good, capable hands with them.

Puff & Fluff Grooming is popular around the valley. They have nine locations in total, but we’d like to give special mention to their Uptown branch.

To start with, they have the nicest staff members. Everyone from the reception to the groomers are friendly, polite, and super warm to the pets and their owners.

The owner, Liz, is also an affable lady who is dedicated to making animals’ lives better. She’s often involved in pet charities and has been featured on local media outlets for her community work.

We always think it’s a great sign when the owner immerses themselves not just in the business, but in the community as well. This gives her extra points, at least in our book.

It’s also evident that they’re big on hygiene. Every tool and grooming area is thoroughly sanitized and disinfected prior to appointments.

As for their grooming services, the prices are relatively higher, but it does cover a lot of inclusions you won’t normally find in others (including a blueberry facial and massages – which are great, but unnecessary).

An unusual thing we heard, however, is that their groomers constantly change and are assigned numbers instead of having name tags. We find that this confuses some customers who are particular when it comes to having a designated groomer.

Cageless grooming is rapidly becoming a trend, and Twin Tails is one of the pioneers. 

What clients love about cageless grooming is that there’s significantly less waiting time. There’s a 1:1 groomer to pet ratio, unlike other groomers where pets are put in cages until it’s their turn.

Here, dogs are immediately taken in upon arrival. This allows the owners to give specific instructions directly to the stylist, and most dogs are done in just 1-2 hours.

We think this is great not only for the owners, but for the pets as well. The less time they spend in a foreign place, the less anxious and stressed they are.

The catch is, you have to arrive on time and diligently make appointments. We’ve heard that there’s no grace period for latecomers.

Because of this, Twin Tails has become a local favorite. They even received the Best Pet Groomer award from Phoenix Magazine’s Best of the Valley Awards 2022.

They accept all dog and cat breeds. We’d also like to point out that their rates are based on the amount of time the grooming process takes; this way, they’re able to avoid overcharging.

An issue concerning some of their customers is the high turnover rate for their groomers. This forces them to change groomers every now and then, which some clients are wary of.

Doggie Doo’s Pet Spa & Retreat is a full-service facility that offers everything your pet needs – from grooming to daycare, and overnight stay to long-term boarding. 

While we’d like to highlight their grooming services, we also think that it’s nice to have a go-to, all-around facility for your fur babies.

When it comes to grooming, they offer the standard inclusions and a few more. They have two shampoos (for extra cleanliness) and even a deshedding treatment (which is often an add-on service for other groomers).

We’ve also heard that their employees are top-notch when it comes to customer service. They provide full details right away on what will be done, what add-ons are available, and how long it will take.

We find this to be incredibly convenient as owners can schedule pickup times in an accurate manner. 

It also seems that they take really good care of the pets they have. They have toys available and treats to help calm the little pooches.

Their rates seem fairly affordable, too. That said, the facility could use a bit of renovation, as it’s a bit outdated for our liking.

We also wish that they were a little better at answering and returning phone calls. Apparently, some clients have to make several phone calls just to get ahold of someone. 

Pupparazi is a mobile pet spa that can accommodate fur babies in Peoria, Surprise, and their surrounding areas.

What’s great about them is that they already have their price list on their website for the services they do in Peoria and Surprise. No need to worry about going over your budget as you can estimate your expenses using these lists.

Aside from this, we like that their services already include all breed mobile dog grooming and mobile cat grooming, teeth cleaning, ear cleaning, and pet supplies.

Whether it is right at your home or in front of your office, their state of the art grooming vans is complete with all the materials and equipment to make your pet looking fresh.

Unfortunately, they only have two groomers as of now. So if you want to get you pet groomed as soon as possible, make sure to book an appointment immediately.

Oasis Pet Grooming is a pet grooming paradise that provides one-on-one cageless grooming for both dogs and cats.

They understand that most pets dread going to the vet, so we like that they make it a priority that each pet has a calm, comfortable, and positive experience so they come home happy.

If you’re looking for a place where your pets can have a personalized grooming experience in a private salon suite, we think there’s no other place for you to go, especially if your pups get nervous around other dogs.

Mary, with over 25 years of experience, spent most of her early years at Southern California but now run a high volume shop in Glendale, AZ!

What we admire about her is patience and kindness to dogs. We are all aware that not all dogs are okay with being groomed, but with Mary, you will not hear any complaints at all.

Aside from this, we love that no job is too big or too small for her. No matter how many or how big your dog is, she will take care of them with the best of her abilities.

Unlike other grooming centers, they are one of the few that accepts cats and selected rabbits. If you have a different pet that you want to get groomed, you may still inquire if they can take them in.

This just shows how experienced they are to the point that they can not only groom dogs!
