Top 5 New Home Builders in Phoenix
How We Chose the Best New Home Builders in Phoenix
Qualifications
We looked into these builders’ experience and credentials. This just gives clients a better idea of how qualified they are.
Quality of Builds
Here, we considered the durability of materials they use, as well as techniques they employ at every build.
Timeline Efficiency
We took into account how often they meet the timelines they set within themselves. We think this helps clients manage expectations time-wise.
Portfolio Variety
It was also important for us to look into the variety of their portfolios, as this shows us how creative and adaptable they are.
Customer Service
This is a big part of our criteria because clients need their builders to keep a constant open line of communication. We also considered their staff’s work demeanors and attentiveness to clients.

Pros
- Has been around since 1997
- Specializes in building luxury homes
- Modern building techniques that are energy-efficient as well
Cons
- Less allowance for client customization
- Significantly more expensive services
NEXTGEN Builders has been around since 1997. Throughout the years, they have built and provided homes to hundreds of clients across the valley.
They specialize in building luxury homes. They have pre-designed luxury plans so there’s less allowance for customization.
They currently have three home plans to choose from, all of which are helpfully and readily available on their website. Although, we do wish they have their portfolio on there so clients can easily assess whether they’d be a good fit for the project.
Quality is their number one priority (as it should be), and they provide this with a few unique build techniques.
For starters, they do the post-tension reinforcing concrete method. This helps the concrete hold better and provides extra strength and stability without compromising visual aesthetics.
They also do 2×6 framing all throughout the structure. In case the client wants to upgrade the insulation later on, this method allows for more room to do just that.
Speaking of insulation, they also utilize spray foams as insulation and an air barrier. This closes the gaps much more effectively and saves clients valuable money from inefficient insulation mishaps.
We think it’s great of them to go to great lengths just to make the homes energy-efficient for their clients. Not a lot of building companies are as forward-thinking and considerate.

Pros
- Guarantees to be on-time and on-budget for all projects
- Keeps an open line of communication with clients
- Has a diverse portfolio
Cons
- Offers nothing new in terms of building techniques
- Significantly more expensive services
It’s quite rare to find a builder that guarantees to be on-time and on-budget, but Platinum Home Builders does just that.
They pride themselves on providing clients excellent quality of service in terms of meeting deadlines and budget constraints. Apparently, they guarantee no additional charges or months-long timeline extensions.
Richard Egly, the owner, seems to be a smart fellow who really knows his way around construction, even the challenging ones. We’ve heard that he’s incredibly hands-on and is very attentive to client queries or concerns.
Communication with them is apparently easy, too. They make it a point to schedule weekly meetings to inform and update clients on every step of the process.
And in case the client wants minor changes or revisions, they don’t charge extra for it. This doesn’t happen all the time, though, but they are very flexible when clients change their minds.
16 years in the construction business has allowed them to work on a variety of projects. Their portfolio is quite diverse and it appears that no project is too small or too big for them.
If you have the budget for them, we think they’re worth the splurge. Investing in your contractor is just as important as investing in your home, after all.

Pros
- Designs are created by award-winning architects
- Uses energy-efficient materials and incorporates energy-saving design methods
- Allows full customization
- Has a My Home 24-7 website with access to live tracking of progress and photos
Cons
- Few reports of delays in project timelines
- Some clients have to make several follow-up calls
William Ryan Homes was founded in 1992 under the dream that it would become a national homebuilder. Fast forward to decades later, they have achieved just that, and found their way to the Valley of the Sun.
The company values quality and energy-efficiency above all. Their lovely designs were created by award-winning architects who are dedicated to providing utmost client satisfaction.
Here, they allow full customization. Their mission it to make homes personal for every client – something that we applaud.
It takes much longer and twice the effort to create custom homes, so we really appreciate their hard work.
All the homes they build are made with state-of-the-art, energy-saving materials. They also factor in the area and the sun exposure in their designs, just to make sure that a home is able to conserve as much energy as it can.
Another thing we really like about them is their My Home 24-7 website. This gives all their clients access to live schedule tracking, library photos, and progress reports.
The website also has documents and a FAQs section for any concern or query a client might have. Now that warrants two thumbs-ups from us.
Unfortunately, we did hear some common builder issues with them such as a few delays in projects and unresponsiveness at times. We really hope they address these soon.

Pros
- Has been in the industry for over 50 years
- A full-service luxury home custom builder
- Has award-winning pre-fabricated designs
- Allows full customization
Cons
- Significantly more expensive service rates
- In some cases, they’re unable to stay within the budget
When it comes to experience, Camelot Homes has over 50 years of it. The company is family-owned and has been passed down across three generations.
In our opinion, what made them so successful is their commitment to quality and client satisfaction. Their attention-to-detail, in fact, is ace.
All of their builds incorporate award-winning designs and timeless elements that look “right” and don’t feel forced at all. Clients appreciate how well-thought out and expertly-crafted their custom builds are.
It also appears that they make the entire build process a breeze. Their staff is competent, efficient, and handles all the red tape which takes off a lot of stress from their clients.
They’re a full-service luxury custom home builder. Clients can either choose from their pre-fabricated designs, ask for a custom-design for a designated home site, or build plans from the client’s own architect.
We like that they allow the last item, as not all custom build companies offer as much flexibility for clients.
An area they could probably work on is staying within the budget. We’ve heard of cases when the cost is much higher than what was estimated.
We understand that it’s not always possible as the prices of materials fluctuate all the time, but we think they could find or offer better alternatives like other builders do.

Pros
- Maintains a high standard for employees, vendors, and subcontractors
- Known to be perfectionists and meticulous builders
- Keeps an organized calendar of schedule
- Allows full customization
Cons
- Significantly more expensive service rates
- Reports of delays in project timelines
Ardan Construction was established in 2007 by brothers Aaron and Danny Niemela. Since then, they have fostered an expert team of building professionals.
What we like about them is how picky they are not just with their employees, but with their vendors and subcontractors as well. This allows them to maintain a high quality standard across all departments.
And these high standards are felt by their clients as well. It seems that they have a reputation for being perfectionists and incredibly meticulous with their builds.
Prior to groundbreakings, they make sure that there’s a shared calendar between them and the client. Apparently, this is an organized schedule that’s very thorough and has space for progress updates.
We also really love that they allow customizations. We’ve heard that they’re very attentive to their clients as they take their time listening and understanding the former’s vision for the home.
It also appears that they’re super communicative and are reachable even beyond office hours. Not that we encourage it, but there really are some instances when clients need to get a hold of them right away – which they do.
It’s probably for these reasons why clients don’t mind paying a premium as much. If you’re not really budget-conscious, we think they’re worth your bucks.
It seems, though, that they share the same issues as other builders. We’ve heard that they also experience a few delays in the timeline of their projects.
