Top 5 Preschools in Phoenix
How We Chose the Best Preschools in Phoenix
School Credentials
It was important for us to look at the preschool’s credentials and accreditations to ensure that your child will get the best early education.
Teaching Staff
Teachers are considered as a child’s second parents. Hence, we wanted to consider those schools with caring and kind staff members.
Programs
We also took a look into the kind of programs that these preschools offered, and how helpful they are to a child’s development.
Environment
Children are very observant and are often influenced by the environment they’re in. This is why we took into account these school’s facilities and conduciveness to learning.

Pros
- Has a ProCare app which allows real-time updates and communication with teachers
- Competitive pricing
- Offers before- and after-school care
- Weekly Christian lessons and Bible study
- A Quality-First rated facility which ensures that staff training is above minimum-state requirements
Cons
- Some concerns pushing for them to serve more healthy meal options
- Longer waitlist as some classes get filled up fast
Elite Preschool and Learning Center is a privately-owned facility which provides quality child care and education.
Their curriculum is designed to help children grow at their own pace by focusing on exploration, hands-on learning, cooperative play, and teaching respect for one’s self and others.
From what we hear, their teachers are friendly, kind, and very communicative with the parents. They would send several photos and updates through the ProCare app – which is something parents appreciate a lot.
Preschool can be nerve-wracking for any parent because it’s one of the first few times that a child will learn independence, so we think that this is very considerate of them.
It might also be good to point out that the school nurtures faith formation and spiritual growth with Christian values. Every Friday, pastors from Grace Walk Church come to teach Bible lessons at no additional cost.
The school understands that not every family is religious. Regardless, they believe that this is a good practice for gratitude and kindness, and we do agree.
On a separate note, we did hear some concerns about the food they serve students. It would seem that parents are requesting for more fresh, healthy meals and less canned food, so we hope that they take measures to address this soon.

Pros
- Safe, toxin-free environment for kids
- The use of natural and organic materials in facilitating learning
- Organic and healthy meals
- High emphasis on school security
Cons
- Teachers are not required to have specialized education or credentials
- Slow to reply to inquiries and reports of unanswered calls
Since 2011, Natural Choice Academy has been welcoming kids aged 1 to 5 years old in their preschool. They uphold play-based learning and focus on experiences over academics.
They firmly believe in deep and sensory play to facilitate the kids’ learning processes. With them, there’s zero screen time, no worksheets, flashcards, report cards, and homework.
That being said, their educational approach is known as an Emergent Curriculum – this means that they harness a child’s curiosity, interests, creativity, and experimentation through natural and organic materials.
These include clay, wood, insects, dirt, water, sand, and more. We were impressed to learn that even all their furniture is made out of wood and sanitized with chemical-free ingredients to provide children a safe and toxin-free environment.
This extends to their commercial kitchen, as well, where they only serve organic food. Meals and snacks are loaded with fruits, vegetables, and grains to encourage a balanced diet.
Since they do focus on soft skills, they don’t actually require their teachers to have specialized education or credentials. But they do provide monthly staff development training and send their teachers to conferences and workshops all over the country.
Another thing we appreciate from them is their emphasis on security. They provide PIN access from a single point of entry, biometric access beyond the lobby, and have high-definition surveillance cameras throughout campus.
We feel that this adds a great sense of ease for any parent, so we give them major props for that.

Pros
- Life Essentials educational philosophy
- An accredited daycare preschool that offers full day classes
- Technological skills are incorporated in the children’s lessons
- Secure entry facilities and live webcams that parents can access all-day
Cons
- Tuition fee is on the pricier side
- Several upfront fees and deposits needed
Learning and fun go hand-in-hand over at Kiddie Academy of North Phoenix. Here, they nurture childrens’ natural curiosities with their Life Essentials educational philosophy.
This means that they focus on character education, STEM-infused technology, and healthy fitness experiences. According to them, this provides preschoolers with physical, emotional, technological, and cognitive foundations they need to thrive in life.
When it comes to their preschool program, they believe that daily routines are essential to teach children to actively engage in activities. We think that this is a practical and useful approach that even parents can adapt in their home routines.
A typical day in their preschool usually includes child-directed play-learning, culture lessons through storytelling, mindful exercises, music, outdoor play, and snacks in between.
They also believe that it’s important for children to be literate in technology. With this, they incorporate technological skills in everyday learning to prepare kids for real-world opportunities.
We hear that their teachers are all incredibly professional and caring. Not only does the academy employ teachers that meet the state requirements for child care providers, they also regularly provide professional training.
Parents appreciate that the teachers are engaging and genuinely care for their kids. It seems that they keep a positive and welcoming atmosphere for both the children and adults.
The only downside is that tuition is on the pricier side, but we think it’s reasonable considering the quality of learning and education they provide.

Pros
Cons
- Reports of hidden fees and charges
- Outdated toys and worn-out furniture in some classrooms
Phoenix Children’s Academy Private School was founded in 2009 and has since remained committed to providing quality early education and child care.
Their specialized preschool curriculum builds on foundational skills of reading, writing, math, and science through rhymes, stories, and various hands-on activities.
They also believe that a home-like environment makes the transition from home to school easier for kids, so they created a soothing environment that mimics a home.
We think this is a smart and considerate move on their part, knowing that some children find it more difficult to adjust to new environments.
They use skill-based learning methods to help kids be more independent. They also follow the Ascend Curriculum which balances structure and flexibility to accommodate the various learning styles of all students.
Kids learn at different paces and different ways, so this is extremely helpful. In fact, they claim that even their youngest students benefit from this.
What’s more is that they have a low teacher-to-student ratio which allows them to have more personal and meaningful interactions with every child.
We also really appreciate that they have relatively affordable rates. And we hear that their customer service is ace – speedy replies, communicative teachers, and friendly staff members.

Pros
- A 4-star Quality First location
- Play-based curriculum and weekly enrichment classes
- State-of-the-art facilities
- Sends daily updates through a convenient mobile app
Cons
- Some reports of automated billing mishaps
- Concerns about some staff members needing more training
WhizKidz Preschool is a family-owned and -operated preschool that has been around since 2007. It has now grown to five campuses all over Arizona – an amazing feat in just a couple of years.
Their Phoenix campus is a 4-star location that participates in Arizona’s Quality First Program. This ensures high benchmarks for their staff and management teams.
The owner, Marth Picciao, is a mom of three and a certified teacher who has made it her life mission to provide quality early childhood education across the valley.
They uphold a play-based curriculum and environment that encourages creativity and imagination. Some of their weekly enrichment classes include gardening, music, PE, cooking, yoga, and art or tinkering.
They focus on structured learning and creative expression, vocabulary, social play, math, and science. This is because they want to educate preschoolers on more advanced levels of social interaction and communication.
On another note, their state-of-the-art facility is also equipped to provide nutritious meals that can accommodate specific dietary needs of the kids. Vegetarian options are available, too.
We also appreciate that they provide updates to parents through a convenient mobile app. They have cameras inside all classrooms and door coded access systems to ensure childrens’ safety, as well.
The only downside would be that we did hear some reports of mishaps when it comes to their automated billing system. Also, some staff members apparently need more training in customer service.
