5 Best Places To Get Awnings In Phoenix

5 Best Places to get Awnings in Phoenix

How we picked

Expertise

We chose companies with years of industry experience and relevant credentials. They should also have knowledge of building standards to make sure the final product is compliant.

Products

They must have a variety of awnings based on design and functionality to serve different purposes. We also prefer those who can perform customizations to make room for adjustments, especially for unique cases.

Installation Services

We assessed their punctuality with the timeline for project completion, as well as the quality of their workmanship. This is based on their past work and the experiences of clients who hired them.

Cost

We compared the average prices across different companies and chose the most cost-effective when it comes to products and installation. We also evaluated the pricing structure based on transparency and service inclusions.

Service Guarantee

Through past clients, we assessed their willingness to make things right in case of service failure. This shows in honoring the warranty on the products and labor, refunds, or product exchanges.

Pros

  • 5 stars and A+ rating on BBB
  • Specializes in sun shade sail awnings
  • Up to 10 years’ warranty on parts
  • Fast and proficient technicians
  • Offers premium-quality awnings

Cons

  • Doesn’t offer manual control for retractable awnings
  • Long wait times for fixed awning products
  • Few cases of unattended inquiries

AAA Sun Control was founded in 2006 by Ruben Jimenez, a former business consultant for IBM. His experience in customer service and business operations has influenced the company’s commitment to delivering outstanding service to its clients.

This thinking is apparently passed down to his constituents, who are skilled technicians with diversified experiences in the industry.

The company specializes in sun shading systems and is considered one of the best in the valley by locals, which is promising.

Among their offers are retractable and sun shade sails, a type of fixed awning that uses tensile fabric that can form geometric shapes. The latter sets them apart from their competitors and gives homes a refreshing look from what we’ve seen.

They also seem to be a hit with homeowners who have swimming pools in their backyards, and even residential communities with playgrounds. We love the versatility that comes with the sails and recommend them to those looking for a unique look.

Another thing we love about them is the customer-oriented service in all phases of the project. A customer of theirs hired them on multiple separate occasions and has reported consistency in communication, as well as the quality of installation.

It takes a few days from the first inquiry to finish a retractable awning, however, sun shade sails could take weeks and even months. Still, we appreciate their transparency in warning clients about supply chain issues, which eases things up.

On the other hand, a few inquiries from customers have been overlooked here and there, especially when asking for a free quote offer.

Pros

  • Free on-site demonstration and estimate
  • Offers military and senior discounts
  • Competetive rates
  • Hands-on and personalized services even after installation
  • Products come with a 10-year warranty

Cons

  • Relatively young enterprise
  • Fixed awnings are not available
  • Limited add-ons for awnings

AZ Sun Solutions is a local business on the rise supplying sun shading devices all over Phoenix. Opening its doors in 2017, they’re a young contender that sets out to prove itself with fully customizable products and services.

The team is relatively small but consists of skilled technicians. They have supplied over 400 homes and businesses, and the numbers continue to grow.

What we like about their awnings is that they’re already inclusive of motion sensors, so they’ll retract the moment they pick up wind. Unfortunately, they only have retractable options available, but we hope they could expand their offers soon.

Still, their products don’t fail with the use of high-quality materials and a variety of colors, valances, and sizes to choose from. The pitch is also adjustable, which is great for shops along narrow sidewalks.

Sales and installation are also a breeze from what we’ve heard. It seems that their sales rep Brok is a nice fellow and takes their time consulting with clients and offering solutions, which they do for free.

We also like that the owner, Enes, personally works with the installment crew on-site to make sure that everything is running smoothly. Because of this, the time it takes to finish the job usually doesn’t take more than a day.

To take the icing on the cake, they’re also reliable for follow-up services in case clients encounter anything out of the ordinary. Overall, they’re a great choice for retractable awnings and personalized services.

Pros

  • Free quotes and home inspections
  • Over 300 colors and patterns to choose from
  • Offers shade fabric replacement for existing awnings
  • Transparent and upfront pricing
  • Accelerated and efficient installation services

Cons

  • Doesn’t offer fixed awnings
  • Few complaints about not honoring the rebate program

With over 15 years in business, All Pro Shade Concepts has grown to be one of the most trusted awning suppliers in Phoenix. Thanks to their premium quality products and services, they’re also at the forefront of the local sun shading industry.

This is backed by their near-perfect score on BBB, along with their A rating and accreditation.

Awnings are available for both homeowners and business owners and can be tailor-made for any function. However, they’re only offering retractable versions.

Still, we like that there are a lot of outcomes from designing awnings. For one, customers can choose from over 300 colors and patterns of Sunbrella fabric, or nine solid colors of solution-dyed acrylic.

Furthermore, there’s an option to customize details like frame color, valance shape, sensors, and controls. At the touch of a button, the pitch and dimmable LED lights can be adjusted to your liking.

As for their service, we appreciate the friendly and no-pressure pressure sales. Clients have also spoken about the fast service from initial consultation to installation and working within the timeline and budget.

To add, their sales and tech are communicative and transparent throughout the whole process. The info they relay is consistent regardless of who you hear it from.

They also offer financing plans that customers can first assess through their online financing calculator, which helps in planning the budget. However, we heard a few cases where they didn’t honor their SRP rebate program, which could be upsetting.

In any event, their track record speaks for itself. For us, they’re your best bet for first-rate retractable awnings and prompt service.

Pros

  • Consistently responsive throughout
  • Retractable awnings feature manual overrides
  • Fabrics come with a 10-year warranty
  • Free same-day, no obligation consultation and quote
  • Industry-grade controls for motorized awnings

Cons

  • Domain is limited to the East Valley
  • Doesn’t offer financing plans

The Outside Shade Company is a Chandler-based sun shades company that has been serving the area for over 20 years. They’re known for their American-made fabrics that are leaders in the industry.

They supply both retractable and stationary awnings that are found in local businesses and residential areas around the East Valley. Unfortunately, they’re only amenable to travel within this area as far as we’ve heard.

Retractable awnings mostly come in motorized variants, but fortunately, these can feature manual overrides in case of power outages.

Other add-ons include sun and wind sensors, protective covers, and even remotes that control up to five awnings. Their controls and motors are certified by the Underwriters Laboratories (UL), which differentiates them for complying to set standards for quality.

Besides homes and commercial establishments, they also install retractable awnings on large vehicles, which is a plus. If you’re a camper looking for awnings for your RV, they’re your best bet from what we’ve seen.

They also have a lot to offer when it comes to fixed awnings. Clients can choose between metal frames or spearpoints for a traditional and elegant look.

Like their customers, we’re fans of their quick responses at every point of the transaction. Steve, the owner, is repeatedly appraised by clients for his hands-on approach during and after installation.

We heard that he’s the man to talk to for follow-up services, plus he takes the initiative to check up on clients to review finished work.

The only other wrinkle we could find is that they’re not currently offering any financing and payment plans, which is something to consider.

Pros

  • Offers in-home consultations and free estimates
  • Personalized awnings with lots of colors and accessories to choose from
  • 40+ years of trade experience
  • BBB-accredited and rated A+
  • Fabrics come with a 10-year warranty

Cons

  • Some encounters with lack of correspondence
  • Limited options for fabrics and materials for canopies

Established in 2001, the veteran and family-owned Liberty Awnings and Shades proudly manufacture their products with the finest, locally-sourced materials.

Richard Mahon, the founder and the brains behind their products, leads a team of highly-trained specialists with years of industry experience.

To kick it up a notch, the company is also an active member of the Professional Awning Manufacturer’s Association (PAMA). This means that they’re up-to-date on trends and advancements in the trade, which is assuring.

In terms of their awnings, they can customize both retractable and fixed options, opening up many possibilities design-wise.

The retractable variant is made of solution-dyed acrylic with the option between a hand crank and a motorized control. We love that they also offer optional accessories such as LED lighting, sun and wind sensor, and support legs for windy days.

On the other hand, their fixed awnings come in both acrylic and Sunbrella fabrics that can be built into four different shapes with a steel frame support.

It seems their crew works together well to make the process of installment swift and painless, leaving no trace after finishing the job. We’ve seen a lot of repeat customers who stand by their service, which is a good sign.

On the downside, there have been reports of a lack of follow-ups and unreturned phone calls regarding service requests. What’s more frustrating is that some of these customers have already issued a downpayment for the project.

However, we heard it’s easier to get a response through their online form. Still, it would be appreciated if they were consistent in sending updates to give clients peace of mind.
