1. Melrose Pharmacy

Website:https://www.melrosepharmacy.com/
Address: 706 W. Montecito Ave
Contact: 602-277-4714
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM | Saturday, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
When we stopped by Melrose Pharmacy, its cozy neighborhood feel immediately stood out. The pharmacy specialises in allergy-free capsules and liquids made without dyes or lactose, making them a strong choice for personalized care.
You can even grab a cold drink from their vintage cooler while you wait.
We spoke with a client who asked about their blister packaging, and they said the staff took the time to explain the single-pack sorting system without rushing them.
The main downside is the limited weekend schedule, as they close early on Saturdays and remain closed on Sundays.
Still, this local pharmacy offers a refreshing level of personal attention for your everyday health needs.
Customer Reviews:
A better pharmacy experience
Melrose is amazing. The team is knowledgeable and helpful – they actually remember you, graciously answer questions and treat you like a person not just some prescription to churn out. If you’re looking for a better pharmacy experience away big brands, go here!

This is hands down one of the best pharmacies I’ve been to. Everyone is friendly and professional, and they always get my prescriptions ready quickly. I especially want to thank Lupe, she’s amazing! Always so helpful, patient, and just really pleasant to talk to. She makes the whole experience far easier and less stressful.

2. Phoenix Pharmacy

Website:https://www.phxpharmacy.com/
Address: 1701 E Thomas Rd Suite 105
Contact: 602-237-6677
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Nobody wants to burn an afternoon in line just to get hit with a high cash price at the register, which is why Phoenix Pharmacy stood out to us.
They keep turnaround fast and prices budget-friendly, so getting your medication doesn’t cost you extra time or money.
That shows in how they treat patients, too. Whether or not you have insurance, they work to get you essential daily treatments at fair, transparent prices. It’s no surprise regulars specifically praise how fast their refills are.
They back that up with real expertise. Their team prepares custom formulations you won’t find on a regular retail shelf. And for daily meds, free prescription drop-off means you don’t have to build your routine around a pharmacy run.
The catch is location. Sitting near several major medical centers means heavy street traffic once evening rush hour hits, so getting there can take longer than the visit itself.
Still, once inside, wait times stay short.

The best pharmacy
This is the best pharmacy. Good communication, easy to reach on the phone, no undue delays, friendly people. I’ve had nightmare experiences with big chain pharmacies and feel so lucky to have found this place.

3. Metier Pharmacy

Website:https://metierpharmacy.com/
Address: 3511 E Indian School Rd
Contact: 602-899-6960
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM | Friday, 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Keeping track of refills for a whole family gets complicated fast, especially once prior authorizations get involved. Metier Pharmacy handles a good chunk of that on their end instead of leaving it to you.
Their staff works with assistance foundations and physician offices to help keep copays down. When we talked to their team, they walked us through some specific cases where they’d pushed back on costs for patients.
They also offer specialty compounding and curbside pickup, which covers most of what a typical family would need.
Two smaller drawbacks: their mobile refill app is iPhone-only right now, so Android users need to call in for refills, and they close early on Friday afternoons.
Overall, it’s a solid pharmacy for staying on top of everyday prescriptions, even with those gaps.
Customer Reviews:
A great pharmacy
Metier is a great pharmacy. It’s not fair this place is getting bad reviews because they no longer accept insurance. Does that suck? Clearly. People don’t realize that most ma and pa pharmacies are losing money because insurance screws them and reimburses them for less than what the drug cost + their overhead (employee salaries, rent, etc). They have no choice but to do this otherwise they would have to shut down.

A commitment to excellence
I’ve been to many pharmacies in my travels and Metiers is by far the BEST of the BEST! I have done online shopping at Metiers from my home across the country! I love seeing their updates and learn new information. I’ve never needed the service of having a prescription filled but I can assume that the expertise and commitment to excellence spreads throughout the pharmacy!

4. Valleywise Health

Website:https://valleywisehealth.org/
Address: 2601 E. Roosevelt
Contact: 1-833-855-9973
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 11:00 PM | Saturday-Sunday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Valleywise Health combines a primary care clinic and pharmacy in one location, so you’re not driving between two places to manage a treatment plan.
That setup also lets doctors and pharmacists coordinate directly, which can matter for anyone juggling multiple prescriptions.
Patients treated within their health network get lower rates on routine maintenance prescriptions. This is a direct result of being part of the same system rather than a separate perk.
On top of that, the pharmacy also has medication disposal kiosks on-site for getting rid of expired pills properly.
The catch is that those lowest flat-rate prices are only available to established patients in the health system, so it’s less useful if you’re just looking for a standalone pharmacy.
Still, the extended hours are a real plus. Being able to pick up prescriptions late at night is convenient, especially for anyone with an unpredictable schedule.
5. Banner Family Pharmacy

Website:https://www.bannerhealth.com/
Address: 1111 E McDowell Rd.
Contact: 602-839-2300
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM | Saturday-Sunday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Leaving a hospital discharge appointment only to wait hours at an outside pharmacy is exhausting, and it’s the kind of thing Banner Family Pharmacy is built to avoid.
The pharmacy is located right inside the medical center, so you can pick up your prescriptions before you even head home.
Once you’re there, staff walk you through one-on-one medication consultations, so you’re not leaving unsure how to actually take what you were prescribed.
They also carry over-the-counter basics and let you set digital refill reminders through their app, which cuts down on future trips.
Their cashless system is just a bit inconvenient. Parking can also be a hassle when the hospital is busy, which, given the location, is often the case.
Even with that, having a pharmacy inside the medical center is genuinely useful when you’re leaving with a new prescription and just want to get home.

Keep up the good work
Awesome pharmacy!!! Due to my insurance, I have to get my meds filled at banner pharmacies. It’s not as convenient since it’s in a hospital but I’m so grateful the wonderful service makes up for it. They always answer my calls in a timely matter and continuously provide the best pharmacy services! Keep up the good work staff! Thank you for all you do! ☺️
