5 of the Best Spray Foam Insulation Contractors in Phoenix
How we picked
Qualifications
The contractor must have considerable field experience through the number of years they have been in business. To verify their knowledge of standards and codes, we checked for the required license and permit.
Expertise
We assessed their techniques and proficiency with machinery in producing consistent and sound installation. They should also provide industry-standard and advanced products that will last through the years.
Project Management
The finished project relies heavily on optimizing time and costs. Hence, we evaluated their efficiency in working around a budget and a strict timeline.
Payment Terms
Parts and labor should be backed with a warranty in case issues with defective products arise. In terms of pricing, we prefer contractors who are transparent with the fee structure through the provision of formal quotes.

Cons

Barrier Insulation & Energy LLC is a family business with over 25 years of installing acoustic and thermal insulation for locals around the state. Outside of homes, they also serve commercial and industrial establishments.
Their team is composed of certified specialists who are equipped to work on newly constructed, retrofitted, and remodeled homes.
Spray foam insulation comes in three main categories which include the attic, walls, and basements. They also have both open cell foam and closed cell foam using polyurethane material, which is proven more effective than fiberglass or cellulose.
As for the process, we like that they have a guide that fills us in on each step. From what we’ve seen, their technicians are quite nifty in terms of application, plus they ensure that their work area is protected and cleaned up afterward.
Likewise, they don’t skimp on wearing protective and safety gear and even perform minor repairs should they encounter any issue along the way, like reattaching AC tubes.
We also heard from clients that they didn’t have to wait around for too long to get scheduled for an appointment, plus their crew arrives promptly on the day. Moreover, they’re also honest with the type of work to be done and stay close to budget.
On another note, a few others have encountered last-minute changes in availability that moved their slot more than once, which could be confusing and frustrating. Fortunately, this doesn’t happen too often and we hope they would resolve to improve.
We also advise clarifying with them on pricing along the way since the final bill may be higher than the estimate.

Advantage Home Performance Inc. has been offering heating, cooling, and insulation solutions since 1997. They have also grown to be one of the most trusted contractors of their kind with the way they run business.
Their philosophy revolves around doing right by their clients and counterparts in the industry. This shows in the high-quality workmanship and the accolades they have earned in the course of their business.
Among these is the 2019 Torch Award for Business Ethics from the BBB, which is impressive as it recognizes them for their honesty, and integrity. They’re also certified home auditors under Energy Star.
This helps uncover the energy consumption of your home’s utility systems to come up with solutions in improving its performance.
When it comes to insulation, they’re very thorough and conscientious with installation, which puts us at ease. We love that above everything else, they prioritize optimizing the home’s comfort levels and energy efficiency.
As far as we’re concerned, they’re the most proficient and skilled technicians we’ve encountered considering their clients’ reviews and extensive track record. Their well-rounded services put them head and shoulders above their competitors.
We heard their service crew are also personable and extra careful with the client’s properties, and often leave no trace upon getting the job done in record time.
It may be for these reasons that their bids are slightly more expensive, but it seems clients don’t mind because of what they’re getting in return. On the other hand, they offer financing and rebates to make it easy on the wallet.
All in all, they’re at they’re consistently at the top of their game. They’re definitely the ones to beat if you ask us.

Pros
- Uses energy efficient and building code compliant products
- Prioritizes indoor air quality and customer’s health
- HERS certified for Energy Star home audits
- Offers competitive rates
- Proactive and responsive front desk
- Offers warranty on labor and products
Cons
- Some inconsistencies with relaying information
- Has a record of delayed appointments
Established in 2006, Southwest Insealators has become a frontrunner in the insulation industry for prioritizing indoor air quality and health. They offer a complete line of insulation products, including the Icynene Insulation System.
This is a type of spray foam insulation material that is less common compared to its counterparts. It’s also more energy efficient and non-toxic to humans but can repel rodents and other parasites, which is handy.
Additionally, they also conduct home audits through their Home Energy Rating System (HERS) which could open energy-saving opportunities for your property. This comes with rebates and financing that can save you money in the long run.
This is a great option for those who seek to improve the energy consumption in their homes and work towards an environmentally-conscious lifestyle.
Having knowledge in this area also allows them to take on a more comprehensive approach to improving the livability of homes for their inhabitants.
On a similar note, it seems a lot of clients often choose them over others because of the detailed proposal and bid that they offer.
We heard that their sales rep Tracy is a powerhouse. She’s apparently meticulous with estimates and forthcoming with info, which we don’t see often.
Still, no contractor is perfect and there have been some inconsistencies with information between the front desk and the installation crew. There were also a few times that appointments were delayed or rescheduled to another date.
Ultimately, they’re an ideal choice for those who prefer newer technology over traditional insulation and want to save more on energy consumption.

Pros
- In network with other professionals in construction
- Over 40 years of proven experience
- One-stop shop for D.I.Y. insulation materials

Cons
- A few complaints on unhelpful responses from phone rep

- Some reports on less-than-adequate installation
King Insulation is one of the longest-running insulation contractors in the valley since opening in 1981. They offer a comprehensive scope of energy-saving solutions for residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural purposes.
Aside from spray foam insulation, they also specialize in rolled batts, sound panels, radiant barriers, and pipe and duct covers among others. Moreover, they’re in a network with general contractors and other tradesmen throughout the state.
Their decades of experience and established relationships with other professionals in the field put us at ease regarding the quality of their work. True enough, they have a long list of satisfied clients to back them up.
Despite how far they’ve come, we think it’s great that they approach every project with the same level of professionalism no matter how big or small. Their prices are also on the more affordable end of the spectrum from what we’ve seen.
If you prefer to do it yourself, they also sell materials that guarantee the lowest prices, at least according to them. Their blog is a wealth of information and can serve as a resource in this case.
The downside is, their phone rep seems to be dry with responses and could come off as rude to some. Some also had to wait a while to receive an estimate after having their property inspected.
Since they’re typically the first port of call, we hope they would build on customer service in terms of phone calls and online correspondence.
A couple of clients were also less than pleased with the installation services, where some areas are not as smooth or thorough.

Pros
- Owner is proactive and hands-on
- Trusted by other professionals in the construction industry
- Works firmly within the estimated time and costs
- Over three decades in business
- Offers drywall services
Cons
- Different service crew for every visit
- Could improve communication among staff
- Donesn’t accept credit card payments
- No available financing plans
Sundance Insulation & Drywall is founded by David King in 1988 fueled by his passion for providing exceptional insulation services. After a few successful years, the company expanded to drywall contracting thereafter.
They mostly specialize in residential and commercial projects, including new construction, remodeled and retrofitted homes, and properties damaged by fire or water. Fiberglass batting and wet-spray cellulose are also on offer in their comprehensive list.
Aside from homeowners, most of their clients consist significantly of homebuilders, general contractors, and architects, among others. This is in due part to referrals made by previous clients who were happy with the results, which is promising.
They even have clients who have their business on profile and have used them for decades. One of them owns a remodeling company and has stood by them for 30 years and counting.
In contrast, they also provide the same level of services to homeowners who hire them for smaller jobs. They’re also generally on time and on budget, which we like.
David himself is very hands-on with every project and is involved every step of the way. They also offer free estimates in person and are responsive
However, the service crew seems to switch up on each visit, which has often led to confusion in terms of passing on information. They’re also not offering any financing plans and don’t accept payments through credit.
Nevertheless, their years of proven work speak for themselves. We think it’s convenient that they also offer drywall service, especially for those with renovation and remodeling projects.
