We considered these places’ overall vibe as we think it’s important for patients to feel relaxed and not be intimidated by their surroundings.
Availability
We took into account how easy it was to book an appointment in these facilities as we understand that some patients have packed schedules.

As always, we take time to look into customer service. We considered here their staff’s demeanor, responsiveness, and patient attentiveness.

Pros
- A non-profit organization that aims to make healthcare accessible to all
- Relatively affordable services
- Acupuncturist is known to be attentive to clients and an expert in her field
Cons
- No receptionist; acupuncturist manages schedule while overseeing patient treatments
- Recliners are near each other and separated only by curtains
- Relatively short business hours which entails longer waiting times for appointments
Phoenix Community Acupuncture is among our picks because we love what the organization stands for. They’re a non-profit corporation whose goal is to make healthcare – acupuncture, in this case – accessible for everyone.
All their services range only from $30 to $60, which is a steal considering how private centers would mostly charge a minimum of $60. For new patients, they charge a small additional intake fee of $10.
Even though their services are relatively affordable, the quality of their acupuncture sessions remains ace. Most of their patients prefer them over bigger corporations because the acupuncturist, Mayo, seems to really be an expert in her field.
From what we’ve heard, she’s a real sweetheart and truly gets to know her clients. She remembers their names, preferences, and even special requests they may have.
This is a big green flag in our book as we think it’s important for an acupuncturist to understand the clients’ needs. She also makes the place as soothing and relaxing as possible, because the recliners are near each other and only separated by curtains.
At their center, you’ll have to extend a bit of patience because Mayo is also the receptionist. She’s the one handling the schedule while overseeing patient treatments, so the waiting room does get used more often than not.
If you’re a first-timer or working with a tighter budget, we really do think they’d be a solid choice.

Pros
- Relatively affordable services with monthly membership options
- Has a spa-like ambience
- Acupuncturists base treatments on individual patient needs
- Quick to respond to inquiries
Cons
- Not for patients who’d love a bit more privacy
- Few reports of recurring billing mishaps
Modern Acupuncture is another top-rated facility because of its affordability and convenience. They’re known to have a lot of franchised offices across the state, but it’s the Camelback branch that we’re partial to.
For starters, the management maintains a soothing environment by making sure that their facility is clean, sanitized, and almost spa-like. Patients often say that they feel as though they’re at a hotel or on vacation.
Their recliners are situated quite near each other. For a private facility, we think a patient would expect a bit more privacy, though.
Their acupuncturists are also well-trained and skilled. It appears that they listen attentively especially when it comes to chronic pain complaints of patients, and they personalized sessions based on individual needs.
Another thing we like is that they have monthly membership options. It offers great value of money to patients who love regularly coming in.
You can also easily schedule an appointment through their website. They’re pretty responsive, too, and their receptionists are friendly and welcoming.
An issue that some clients have had with them are recurring billing mishaps. We think this presents major hassles to clients, so we do hope that they resolve this soon.

Pros
- Offers a wide scope of additional modalities for acupuncture treatments
- Provides needle-less options
- Acupuncturist is well-trained and experienced in treating musculoskeletal, neurologic, emotional, stress and systemic disorders
- Relatively affordable rates
Cons
- Relatively longer waiting time for appointments
- Closed on weekends
Total Wellness Acupuncture specializes in integrating alternative medical treatments that heavily-rely on acupuncture. They have a ton of modalities that patients can choose from which include gua sha, cupping, moxibustion, and more.
What we like about them is that they provide needle-less options for those who are intimidated. Patients can opt to avail laser acupuncture or electro acupuncture from their extended treatment options.
The owner, fondly referred to as Judi, has the training to back up her business. She’s well-trained in Science of Oriental Medicine and has a doctor’s degree in Acupuncture with a specialization in Herbal Medicine.
She’s able to treat a wide scope of musculoskeletal, neurologic, emotional, stress and systemic disorders. She does this holistically, too, and looks at the lifestyle of her patients to uncover the cause of their presented pains.
What’s more is that they price their services lower than most. This is probably why they have a lot of clients and why booking an appointment can entail a bit of wait.
We like, though, that the other staff members are super attentive to patients. Even at the waiting room, they make everyone who comes in feel welcome and cared for.
All things considered, we think they’d be a good choice if you’re not really in a rush to get a treatment in.

Pros
- Offers a fresh take on a traditional Chinese method
- Clinic has a zen-like ambience
- Acupuncturist has well-rounded experience and training
Cons
- Relatively expensive services
- Acupuncturist’s straightforwardness comes off as rude to some
For a unique take on acupuncture, you might want to visit Japanese Acupuncture. They employ unique techniques that are still in line with the traditional Chinese methods.
The owner and acupuncturist, Frank, has had a well-rounded experience. He’s a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine and has received his master’s degree in Oriental Medicine from the National University of Natural Medicine.
It appears that patients love his gentle techniques. He displays such expertise when it comes to treating chronic pains, as patients often say that they feel significantly better even after just one treatment.
Apparently, he takes his time listening to his patients. And, he often checks in on them to look into their healing and progress.
We always appreciate it when doctors, in this case, an acupuncturist, show how much they genuinely care for their patients. We give them major props for it.
However, it seems that some patients aren’t used to his straightforward approach. To some, he comes off as rude and disrespectful.
Putting those aside, it seems that most patients appreciate his honesty in setting expectations when it comes to healing.
We also love how zen-like their facility is. And, they have ample space to provide a ton of privacy for all their patients.

Pros
- Offers more perks than the standard acupuncture treatment
- Clean, modern, and relaxing clinic with pleasant staff members
- Has a good customer satisfaction rate
Cons
- Significantly expensive services
- Closed on weekends
Dr. Erlich of Solutions Acupuncture & Naturopathic Medicine is also one to go for a holistic approach. Here, they attempt to understand the root cause of patient issues and tailor-fit the acupuncture treatment to them.
Patients don’t just come here for acupuncture treatments. They enroll themselves in the center’s methodologies that combine Nutritional Interventions, Endocrine Optimization, and individualized acupuncture sessions.
So if you’re a regular acupuncture patient looking for more in-depth solutions to issues you’re having, this may be the place for you.
Walking into their clinic is a pleasant experience. It seems that their staff members are welcoming and attentive to patients.
Even more appealing is how modern, clean, and relaxing their facilities are. You’ll be afforded a lot of privacy and it truly feels as though you’re being taken care of.
We’d also like to point out that most of their patients have been with them for years, and a lot of the newer ones come from referrals. This, to us, is a telltale sign of a good customer satisfaction rate.
The downside is, their services are significantly more expensive. However, it does come with a lot of other perks, so we do think they’re worth the investment.
