The Top 5 Paper Shredding Services In Phoenix

The Top 5 Paper Shredding Services in Phoenix

How we picked

Security

The company should be certified by the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID) AAA as this indicates that they comply with regulations in handling sensitive and private documents.

Range of Services

They must employ methods of shredding apart from strip scanners since these can be easily assembled. We also considered the range of media they can shred, as well as options for pick-up and drop-offs.

Quality of Shredding

We assessed the thoroughness of their shredding and delivery services from collection to destruction. They should also be equipped with industry-grade machines and tools to perform the job properly.

Pricing Plans

We looked for companies that offer different packages in terms of pre-determined intervals, like weekly to quarterly plans. We also browsed the inclusions to assess their cost-effectiveness.

Pros

  • Quick turnaround times and correspondence
  • Mobile service ensures a secure chain of custody
  • Offers same-day shredding
  • Affordable rates per 300 pounds of paper
  • Charges only $5 for every extra box of paper

Cons

  • Young company established in 2020
  • Currently equipped with only one truck
  • No drop-off services available
  • Doesn’t offer electronic media destruction

AAA DocuShred LLC is a family-operated and entirely mobile shredding service founded by Shawn Siewers. This means they do all their shredding on-site, which is convenient.

The company is fairly young, established only in 2020. Despite this, they have proven that they’re top-notch with quick turnarounds and responses according to their clientele.

Furthermore, they claim to offer white glove services, which we think is apparent in the on-time arrivals and assistance offered by the most pleasant techs.

Scheduling appointments are relatively easy from what we’ve heard and can go as far as the outskirts of Maricopa County. They also accommodate same-day services depending on the availability, which is just a phone call away.

On the other hand, this could be a drawback for those who only have a few boxes to shred. They don’t have a drop-off location for on-the-go services that would lessen the costs of traveling on-site.

They do have so-called “shred events” where you can drive by and drop off your documents. This only happens according to their timeline since they only have one truck at the moment.

Then again, they have an LCD screen mounted on the side that displays the shredding process in real time if you prefer to monitor it.

Bear in mind that they don’t shred bulky and harder materials like hard drives, so you might have to remove them since they add to the weight and overall costs.

Speaking of, they have weekly, bi-monthly, monthly, and quarterly plans on offer for 300 pounds per shred. This is roughly 10 boxes of documents that takes at least 3 minutes to destroy, which is quick but thorough.

Pros

  • Full-service record management company
  • 20+ years in business
  • Offers the option to incinerate shredded papers
  • Equipped with a fleet of around 10 shredding trucks
  • Offers on-site, off-site, and drop-off services
  • Fast and seamless appointments and scheduling

Cons

  • Uses a harmful method that emits toxic fumes
  • Few reports of delayed appointments

Arguably the valley’s premier shredding service, Assured Document Destruction, Inc. has over two decades of proven experience in the industry. They’re headquartered in Las Vegas but have opened other locations in Phoenix and Tucson in 2009.

Starting the business with only one truck, they eventually expanded to a fleet and both on- and off-site services.

Apart from shredding, they also offer hard drive destruction and non-paper shredding – essentially a full line of information management services. This is fitting and convenient for organizations and enterprises of all sizes.

Because of this, they’re vetted by local businesses and professionals for their well-rounded offers. They’re also furnished with a suite of cutting-edge technology, which makes us confident in the quality of their services.

Moreover, they also handle baling and recycling in their own plant where they also accept drop-offs. Plans are available in both one-offs and customized ongoing services for both business and residential purposes.

For those who prefer total destruction of documents, they can incinerate the shredded pieces for you. However, this has adverse effects on the environment so proceed with caution.

Their service crew also sends notifications before arriving at the location, which keeps clients updated on their whereabouts. More often than not, they arrive on the dot and finish the job swiftly in no time.

No company is perfect and they missed the mark for a few others. Trucks were delayed hours up to days, contradicting the terms in the signed contract.

Nevertheless, we think they lived up to their name, having assured thousands of satisfied clients of their superior and seamless execution of destroying confidential materials.

Pros

  • Comprehensive scope of information management services
  • Cost-effective option for bulk shredding
  • Offers non-paper and electric media shredding
  • Produces finer shreds compared to others

Cons

  • Fixed rates and no pricing programs available
  • Limited options for secure containers

Premier Document Shredding is a proudly locally-owned and -operated company that consists of former first responders and veterans. Since its opening in 2005, it has grown to be one of the most trusted shredding services in Phoenix.

For one, they have a loyal clientele that has stood by their services for years. Most of them are businesses and organizations, but they also cater to personal and residential shredding.

Among the services they provide are document scanning and consulting for identity theft and custom recycling programs. They’re a one-stop shop for all your record management needs, including destruction for non-paper media.

Compared to other companies, their rates are all-inclusive and charged per pick-up instead of the usual per pound. This is a cost-effective option, especially for those with heavy bulks of paper materials.

However, this deal isn’t as worth it for those with fewer boxes to shred. It’s a good thing that they accept on-the-go services at their site.

They’re also transparent with fees, and their initial quote is usually reflected in the final invoice.

Other than that, we were satisfied with how the shredding came out. The particles are some of the smallest ones we’ve seen around, which is great.

They also perform all the baling and recycling in-house, which cuts costs on logistics and reduces their carbon footprint.

We think it’s worth noting that the owner, Harry A. Coder, has an extensive background in law enforcement. In particular, he knows about background investigation and the destruction of Intelligence record Information, which is reassuring.

Ultimately, we think they offer the most comprehensive scope of information management services. As far as we’re concerned. You’ll likely get your money’s worth with everything they have to offer.

Pros

  • Produces fine cross-cut shreds (maximum size of 0.24”x0.25”)
  • Has a fleet of trucks and state-wide coverage
  • Offers regularly scheduled maintenance services
  • Personable and punctual service crew
  • Offers Seal N’ Shred bags for drop-offs

Cons

  • Limited drop-off hours every day
  • Doesn’t accept same day on-site services

With over 15 years serving locals all over the state, A-1 Shredding has proven that they’re a frontrunner in the game with their consistent performance. They serve both residential and business owners, big or small.

Clients have the option for on-site or drop-off services at their plant, conveniently located minutes away from Central Phoenix. They also have their own recycling program, which is an added layer of security, not to mention environmentally friendly.

We like that they’re accommodating regardless of the volume of papers to be shredded.  The quality of shredding is also one of the finest we’ve seen, no more than half an inch!

Self-sealing bags are also available at their plant. These are recyclable and can hold up to 35 pounds, similar to a copy box.

Furthermore, their rates are flexible and proportional for personal or business use. They also offer regular services that can be tailored according to the needs of your organization, which is convenient.

At their location, clients can view the process safely behind a glass wall as preferred. Just be sure to drop them off in the morning only, since they close up pretty early every workday.

When it comes to drop-offs, their staff often meet you where you are and volunteer to carry all the boxes themselves. They’re also generally pleasant to deal with and are always on time.

That being said, be sure to book in advance since they’re not amenable to same-day service calls.

  • Long operating hours and open on Saturdays
  • Crime-free certified technicians
  • Offers a low-cost guarantee on their services
  • Hosts annual free paper shredding events
  • Mobile Shredding Association (MSA) member

Cons

  • No pricing plans available
  • Drop-off routes regularly change prior notice

Cutters Document Destruction began as an owner-operator mobile service in 2010. Eventually, the owners Reggie and Lisa Heywood saw a boom in business, expanding to five trucks and off-site services.

They claim to offer the cheapest rates in Phoenix and have a low-cost guarantee to prove it. We like that cost control is one of their top priorities, along with security and quality document shredding.

Though we wished they had pricing plans, especially for ongoing services for businesses that regularly need commercial shredding. We also heard from past clients that there

Still, they offer free use of their document storage bins for on-site services so you wouldn’t have to procure your own. Secure collection carts come in 120L, 240L, and 360L sizes which suffice in most cases.

They also have a regular schedule for drop-offs at each area in the valley per week. Make sure to drop a line first so you’ll be notified on the day of their arrival since routes vary from week to week.

Another thing we like is that they also offer hard drives and digital media destruction services. Customers can monitor the process through their shred cameras, which is an added bonus for transparency.

For those who don’t shred often but are looking to save money, they host free paper shredding events every October. We’re fans of their commitment to making their services accessible, plus it doubles as advocacy for reducing paper waste.
